U.S. Rejects Hamas Demands for Negotiations Role




The good folks at Hamas, whose stated goal is the destruction of Israel, are upset that they didn't get an invite to the upcoming Middle East peace conference.

Hamas chief Khalid Mashaal told Cable News Network yesterday that the Middle East peace conference called by President George W. Bush and expected to take place in November is an American meeting, not an international one, because it excludes ``key players in the region'' such as Syria and Hamas.

The U.S. has politely told them: "You do not work and play well with others".

``It's kind of ironic for anyone from Hamas to be complaining about being exempted from a peace process which they frankly don't recognize and don't believe in,'' State Department spokesman Tom Casey said in Washington yesterday.
