Hillary Clinton: Will Astrology Predict a Presidential Win?

From several astrologers we've put together a compilation of different astrological "readings" and forecasts for Hillary Clinton.

Astrology has been in existence since before astronomy. Both Copernicus and Galileo were astrologers. We wanted to see if the astrologers found any "signs" that Hillary might be our next 2008 President or if something in her chart may have an "adverse" effect. Whether Hillary's planets, trines, squares, or rising sign, ect., match up to the Hillary we know.

Hillary Clinton - Scorpio

Jeff Jawer from Zodiac Central writes about Hillary's 'strength' and unwillingness to "reveal more of herself" to others:

Competence, not cuddliness, is Hillary's strength. Her Mercury squares serious Saturn, indicating a steel trap mind that carefully calculates every statement before speaking. This mental power is helpful for analyzing and solving difficult problems, but reduces spontaneity. Venus, the planet of love, is also square Saturn in her chart, representing a romantic pattern based more on security than stimulation. And even though her Mars, the planet of action, is in outgoing Leo (Bill's Sun sign), its close conjunction with controlling Pluto and Saturn buries its youthful exuberance under the weight of responsibility and self-control. The proximity of punishing Pluto and Saturn to Mars often can leave her feeling that there is no room for mistakes, adding to an image of rigidity. Still, Hillary's Pisces Moon forms a harmonious 120-degree trine with generous Jupiter, reflecting idealism and optimism flowing through the seams of her tightly monitored personality. The irony may be that her biggest mistake in courting voters is her unwillingness to reveal more of herself. Source - Zodiac Central

From Starig:

This “other side” of her nature is expressed through the characteristics of her Scorpio planets (Hillary has her Sun, Chiron, Venus, Mercury and South Node in Scorpio), coupled with Mars (energy) and Pluto (power) exactly conjunct in Leo. Her inner power (Scorpio) is nuclear—her core-self (Sun) is never touched by externals, thus she will never lose her soul and will.

While Mars has to do with drawing boundaries and definition around identity, Pluto is about absolute power—raw, unformed and amoral. These two planets, coupled with Saturn, show a dogged, furious rage to live her life to the fullest and overthrow adversaries of all kinds.

The past years as First Lady have been a litmus test of her inner strength and public power and a proving ground, as if she has been in an apprenticeship. The real test now comes during these last seven months toward the election in November, and beyond. The transits of Saturn and Uranus in the sky are forcing a confrontation within herself to hone her obvious determination and strength (this is the positive side of her Venus and Mercury in square to Mars, Saturn and Pluto). She will find reason to examine her values, based on her own personal truth, and come out of this period clearly with her own goals well defined.

From Astrofuturetrends:
The composite mid-Pisces Moon opposes a stellium of five planets in Virgo. The composite Moon signifies the emotional connection a candidate is able to establish with the country. Composite Uranus completes the picture with its square of the Virgo-Pisces axis. Significantly, Clinton’s composite Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is squared by Uranus, showing the candidate’s potential for disrupting the status quo.

Transits affect a composite chart just like a natal chart. On election day, 2008, there will be an opposition between Saturn and Uranus. The election day Saturn-Uranus opposition will be hitting the Clinton/U.S. composite Jupiter-Saturn conjunction and squaring the composite Uranus. Because the election will be decided on Saturnine issues of security and Uranus represents radical change, it is entirely possible that Hillary Clinton could be elected president in 2008.
From cluboda:
My opinion is that Hillary Clinton will have a tough presidential campaign and I’m not very sure that it will be a success. Whenever the opposition Moon-Neptune is activated by progression or transit she is under ‘illusion of winning’ influence. I think that her chance it will be the experience and the wisdom gained until now. And this experience should make her think twice before taking decisions. Also she should pay attention to her husband advices: Bill’s Mercury is conjunct with Hillary natal Mars - he can guide her actions and also to provide excellent ideas.

Starting with March 2008 things on Hillary campaign will not be so good. The Moon will progress into Cancer and start forming the opposition with natal Moon/Neptune. Also Pluto is transiting on that period of time the natal position of Juno. And Juno in transit is making its return and start moving backwards…retrograde.
From Raymond at Google Group's Astrology:
I looked at Hillary Clinton's transits for election day 2008,and they
just don't seem to be nice, fortunate transits for somebody to win the
presidency.
If using 8 pm as birthtime which I read is highly questionable
Transiting Pluto square her Moon and oppose her Ascendant/conjunct
Descendant
(emotional upheavals,feeling devastated..especially regards to
relationships with others)
Transiting Neptune in Leo squaring her Mercury-South Node conjunction
in Scorpio and opposing her Saturn in Taurus for a t-square
(That has to be a great challenge for her, seems like a major
disappointment, communication issues, even bad news....with it being
fixed,it can indicate that she is hard to budge, and may not waver
during controversies,scandals,and debates)
Transiting Mars conjunct South Node
Transiting South Node conjunct Mars
(double whammy transit...has to be significant)
(it could be actions that are coming back to haunt her)
I doubt that she will be elected president based on these transits
even without the 8 pm birthtime, she still has that fixed t-square
transit as well as the double whammy Mars-South Node conjunctions.
Raymond

We found the Daily Horoscope for Hillary on Election Day, November 4th, 2008. Excerpts from the site, The Strange House:

Sun Square Mars applying (power strains action)
Stubbornness and anger interfere with achievement. Use the delicate art of compromise or risk a needless clash of egos.

Neptune Square Mercury applying (impression strains expression)
Your communicative and reasoning abilities may go awry now. Delay important decisions, especially in business, until this influence passes. Avoid obsession with singular thoughts and do your best to concentrate. Above all, be honest.

Moon Square Sun applying (emotion strains power)
Your emotions interfere in working and getting along with others. Avoid stubbornness.

Sun Square Pluto applying (power strains change)
Proceed with extreme caution. Avoid bullying others or being bullied. Do not fight a group's will. Think long and hard before confronting authority.

Pluto Square Moon separating (change strains emotion)
Your emotional and domestic life may be disruptive. Be honest with yourself. Are you behaving like an adult? Why do you want power over others? What can you do make your life better? Face your fears or be doomed to their control. Don't play emotional mind games.

There you have it, none of the astrologers predicted Hillary's "stunning" Comeback Kid win. With transits of Saturn and Uranus, an "opposition between Saturn and Uranus", opposition Moon-Neptune, Juno "moving backwards" and other various planetary sundries, no one is predicting it's a "sure thing" Hillary will win on Nov. 4th.

Tomorrow we'll be looking at the Republican New Hampshire winner, John McCain's astrological forecast.

Obama: Astrologers Predict Obama's Run for the White House

Image [Webshots]

We're doing a series of astrological predictions for the 2008 Presidential candidates. We decided to take a closer look at the winners of the Iowa Caucus, Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama. Yesterday we had several astrologer's "take" on Mike Huckabee's chances for being elected the next President.

Today we're focusing on Democrat Senator Barack Obama.

Obama's birthdate is August 4th which is Leo the Lion. Leo is ruled by the sun.

Astrologers Predictions

This prediction was up Jan 1, 2008 on My DD:

Barack Obama
Leo (d.o.b. August 4)
Forecast: "A gift or two is in the day's cards for you, and it will likely come from your sweetie, who wants you to know how much brighter you make their world. Express your inner emotions, too - don't be afraid to have sticky sweet words come out of your mouth."
Meaning: Iowa will choose you to be her one and only. Start preparing a memorable victory speech.

From Astromarkt:

He would have a Moon trine Jupiter, being born at 14:02. Moon trine Jupiter is very helpful on the way to the White House. Strategical thinking is a must for American presidents. His Saturn is 157.5 degrees away from the midpoint Mercury/Pluto. There are a number of indications for success:

Sun square Jupiter/Uranus
Mars semi square Sun/Mercury and Sun/Jupiter
Jupiter sesqui square Mars/Pluto
Pluto semi square Sun/Venus
Nodes square Mars/Jupiter

My conclusion (not knowing his HOB!) is that he is first of all a creative (fire and earth dominating) diplomat (Venus most prominent), who could be a (too) idealistic leader.

I think Obama has a good chance to become the next president or vice-president, given these data. But I would not bet on it, if I were you. Last time (Bush-Kerry) most of the astrologers had the wrong idea about the next president. And in this case we don't even know his HOB for sure.

A prediction from Astro Future Trends for Super Tuesday, Feb. 5:

Barack Obama: His Leo planets (Mercury, Sun, Uranus) will also be opposed by the Aquarius lineup on super-primary day, but not as closely as Clinton’s. Saturn will conjunct his Pluto. Pluto will be opposing his Venus, probably not such a good thing for a political candidate in the heat of an election.

From Blessed By The Stars:
Another interesting connection is Obama’s natal Neptune exactly conjunct the U.S. Scorpio ascendant. This bring his vision of equality to the forefront and prominent in the eyes of the American people. In addition, his natal Uranus, opposes the U.S. Moon exactly at 25º Aquarius indicating excitement, charisma, and the sudden skyrocketing to fame. Historically, a candidate must have a strong connection to the U.S. Moon to ensure their popular approval and to get elected. In early 2008, at the height of the Democratic primaries, Obama's progressed chart looks extremely favorable (progressed Jupiter conjunct the U.S. Pluto, as his progressed Sun trines the U.S. Pluto) for advancing his ambitions.

There you have it, several predictions from astrologers on Senator Obama's run for the Oval Office.

We wrote yesterday that astrology is perceived as some "wacky" New Age fad. In reality astrology was around well before astronomy. Both Gallileo and Copernicus were astrologers. That being said, astrology still remains unaccepted as a "science."

This quote from Carl Sagan sums it up, at least for us:

That we can now think of no mechanism for astrology is relevant but unconvincing. No mechanism was known, for example, for continental drift when it was proposed by Wegener. Nevertheless, we see that Wegener was right, and those who objected on the grounds of unavailable mechanism were wrong. Source - Astrology-ca

Democrat Presidential Candidates: 2008 Astrology Predictions

We've put together some astrological predictions for the Democrat front runners of the 2008 Race. Enjoy!

My conclusion (not knowing his HOB!) is that he is first of all a creative (fire and earth dominating) diplomat (Venus most prominent), who could be a (too) idealistic leader. Neptune is the drug planet and Obama has used all kinds of drugs in his teenage years and he quit smoking when he announced his candidacy. Neptune is also the planet of beliefs. As a grown up Obama had himself baptized in the Trinity United Church of Christ. Both his parents are not religious. That is another statement of the 14:02. In that case Uranus is in the ninth, convertion, change of religion.

Hillary Clinton

From Astrofuturetrends:
The composite mid-Pisces Moon opposes a stellium of five planets in Virgo. The composite Moon signifies the emotional connection a candidate is able to establish with the country. Composite Uranus completes the picture with its square of the Virgo-Pisces axis. Image - Edwards Chart - Astrodata Bank

John Edwards

…A challenging T-square in the chart of John Edwards may help to explain what drives him relentlessly towards the Presidency. Saturn and Neptune are conjunct in his chart in the fourth house, a configuration that combines the desire of Saturn to create form and achieve success with the urge of Neptune to dissolve form and withdraw into the world of spirit. There is a deep inner conflict here that is made stronger by the fact that both planets are retrograde and therefore operate at a more internal level. When Saturn is retrograde in a birthchart it also shows an individual who is self-critical and feels a lack of self-worth on a deep level. Ultimately the goal of this conjunction is to successfully unite the energy of the two planets by giving form to our dreams and ideals rather than dividing in conflict between these two directions…

…Transiting Pluto opposed Edwards's Sun back in 2003 and 2004 as he sought the Presidency and blocked (opposition) his reach for power (Sun/Pluto). Pluto is just beginning another cycle, this time opposing his Mars. Over the next year Edwards will face challenges to his ambitions as Pluto blocks his drive and ambition (Mars). However, other planetary influences are favorable for him, and perhaps this could be a time when he is able to achieve enough balance in his life to stabilize him and give him the persistence he will need to face another presidential campaign. While we do not consider astrology to be "scientific" we do find it interesting to read the different aspects of each candidate.

Next up: The lower tier candidates, Kucinich and Richardson.

Republican Presidential Candidates: 2008 Astrology Predictions

We decided to look up the 2008 astrological forecasts of the Republican Presidential race front runners.

Rudy Giuliani

From Astrofuture Trends:

Astrologer Phillip Brown, M.A. writes that Giuliani has a Mars-Pluto power conjunction in Leo and a Sun-Uranus conjunction in Gemini (see horoscope, although his birth time is not known so we can’t know his Ascendant or any of the house cusps). The conjunction of the Sun and Uranus does show his potential for strong leadership in emergency situations, although many of his 9/11 actions have since been inflated by him or have been called into question. Saturn will be squaring Giuliani’s Sun-Uranus conjunction during the February state primaries, so his candidacy may begin to dim around that time.

Mitt Romney:

From Accumind:

Uranus is leaving the 10th house of career, moving in on his sun - which could bring some sudden changes in April and August of 2008, but Neptune moves thru the 10th of career - not indicative of high public office.

Fred Thompson

From Circles Of Flight:

Thompson made his announcement just as transiting Pluto was turning direct while trine his Leo Sun. Progressing his chart reveals the strong role Jeri plays in this campaign, since his progressed Juno was exactly (to-the-minute) conjunct his Moon. Over the next few months, as transiting Pluto approaches the square to his Neptune, he will be challenged to better define his agenda, to get specific about his policy proposals.

Huckabee Natal Chart [Star IQ]

Mike Huckabee

Although Mike Huckabee was born with his Sun in self-effacing Virgo (August 24, 1955; Hope, Arkansas; time unknown), his Venus-Mars-Pluto triple conjunction in late Leo adds plenty of confident, mission-oriented optimism to his candidacy, with Venus providing the folksy, likeable, Southern charm. Over the last few months of his spectacular rise, slow-moving Pluto has been favorably trine his triple conjunction in Leo.

Huckabee's Jupiter in Leo is exceptionally significant in his natal chart with its close square to Saturn in Scorpio. In the religious sense, it's about knowing the difference between living faith and dead ritual. In the current campaign, Huckabee has gone from no hope (Saturn) to potential winner (Jupiter). Next week, Jupiter enters Capricorn and trines his Virgo Sun just before the Iowa caucus on January 3, a very promising sign.

In terms of his connection with the American people, his progressed Jupiter at 25º Leo opposes the U.S. Moon**, so that he taps into the religious faction, including the 40 percent of Iowa Republicans who call themselves evangelicals. As transiting Jupiter moves deeper into Capricorn, Huckabee's strength will probably wane, unless he can broaden his appeal. However, with Pluto entering Capricorn and trining his Sun, he may remain as a power-broker within the GOP, a king-maker representing the religious right. Source - Star IQ - Jupiter-Pluto Lifts Mike Huckabee

Ron Earnest Paul

From Nafella:

Since we cannot find Paul's time of birth we are unable to get a natal chart.

According to Wikipedia, Ron Paul was born in Greentree, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1935. Since no birth time is provided, we will make do with a Moon sign horoscope and not consider the position of the horizon (Ascendant) at the time of birth.

This is what we can see in his birth chart:

Mars retrograde in Gemini between now and end of January 2008 will give him considerable momentum towards achieving his objective. Mars moves out of Gemini towards the end of April. By mid May we will know how far Mars has carried him.

Saturn in Leo is not very helpful. It goes retrograde on December 20th and remains so until early May 2008. His campaign will face strong opposition from the establishment, which will work behind the scenes to put a stop to his campaign.

The net of all this is that Ron Paul will have Jupiter (intellect) and Mars (passion) working strongly in his favor, with Saturn (establishment) working hard to bring him down between mid December 2007 and mid May 2008. If his campaign (of intelligent and passionate people) is still holding strong towards the end of May 2008, we may see some very interesting and surpising times in the campaign for rest of 2008!
