These incredible pix of an "only in America" institution: The Heart Attack Grill.

A quick Google search brought the following info from Wikipedia to help put the pix in context.

Heart Attack Grill:

The Heart Attack Grill is a Chandler, Arizona burger restaurant that has become internationally known for serving incredibly large, unhealthy hamburgers and for its criticism by the Arizona Board of Nursing and Baltimore-based Center for Nursing Advocacy for putting its waitresses in naughty nurse uniforms.

The Heart Attack Grill is a hospital theme restaurant. The restaurant was founded in 2005 by Jon Basso who calls himself "Dr. Jon" and dresses in a white doctor's lab coat.[1]. Basso designed the theme of the restaurant with the intent of serving "nutritional pornography," food "so bad for you it's shocking."[2] Customers are referred to as "patients," orders as "prescriptions," and the waitresses as "nurses."

The menu includes "Single," "Double," "Triple," and "Quadruple Bypass" hamburgers, ranging from half a pound to two pounds of beef, "Flatliner Fries" (cooked in pure lard), cigarettes, beer and liquor, and soft drinks. The names imply coronary artery bypass surgery, and refer to the danger of developing atherosclerosis from the food's high proportion of saturated fat and excessive caloric content. The Quadruple Bypass burger has 8,000 calories.[3] Customers who finish a Triple or Quadruple Bypass burger are pushed in wheelchairs to their cars by the waitresses.

The waitresses' nurse costumes and behavior have caused the most controversy. The waitresses wear crosses on their nurse hats, thigh-high fishnet stockings, short skirts, and low-cut tops. On occasion, they sit at the table with customers while they eat, role-play as nurses, or even jump into the arms of their customers.

Taser Parties: Shocking Success

Let's get this Taser Party started...

Tired of Tupperware and looking for something different? Haven't felt safe and you're looking for something in personal protection? Now address both concerns in one fell swoop: Throw a home Taser party!

TASER devices utilize compressed nitrogen to project two small probes up to various ranges of 15, 21, 25 or 35 feet only 15 foot cartridges are sold to citizens) at a speed of over 160 feet per second. These probes are connected to the TASER device by insulated wire. An electrical signal is transmitted through the wires to where the probes make contact with the body or clothing, resulting in an immediate loss of the person’s neuromuscular control and the ability to perform coordinated action for the duration of the impulse.[2]
Tupperware, Top Secret Lingerie, and now Tasers, home "parties" have evolved.

Dana Shafman, founder of Shieldher Inc., has recently started sponsoring Taser parties, giving women a chance to buy Tasers for $300, or $350 with a laser beam to help with aiming.

Shafman's parties allow women to get together to discuss concerns and learn about the Taser C2, the newest consumer Taser that is similar to the device police officers use. "I felt that we have Tupperware parties and candle parties to protect our food and house, so why not have a Taser party to learn how to protect our lives and bodies," Shafman said. [1]

The Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco and Firearms has stated that TASER ECDs are non-firearms in 1998 and in 1994. [2]
By invitation only, no booze, and no humans tasered, Shafman's the only Taser party coordinator in the country.
Conducted electrical weapons (CEWs) are used by law enforcement to subdue combative subjects. Occasionally, subjects will die after a CEW has been used on them. It is theorized that CEWs may contribute to these deaths by impairing respiration. [2]
Tupperware, lingerie, and now Tasers. One wonders what's next on the home party horizon?

Librarians: Sex-Ed Book For Four Yr Olds To Stay

PreSchool-Grade 2–Willy is not good at math but excels at swimming. He and his nemesis, Butch, practice every day for the Great Swimming Race. Finally, armed with goggles, a number, and two maps, he and 300 million other competitors swim madly for the prize–the egg inside Mrs. Browne. Willy is a sperm. All his practicing pays off and he victoriously burrows into the "lovely and soft" egg, which grows and grows in Mrs. Browne's tummy until it becomes a baby girl. But "Where had little Willy gone? Who knows?

The Library Board in Chandler, Arizona decided against "banning" the sex-ed book for four year-olds, "Where Willy Went" after receiving complaints from residents who wanted them "moved or removed".

The board took their responsibility to the public seriously," Library Manager Brenda Brown said. "In the end, they recognized that banning the materials or restricting their access was not in the public's best interest, and that parents need to be diligent in reviewing what their kids are looking at."

Yesterday DBKP posted a story about the Denver Public Library's refusal to help police catch the child porn operators whom authorities found were using the library's computer to trade their "materials."

Public Libraries: Safe Havens For Kiddie Porn

Now comes word that the librarians in Chandler feel keeping books such as "Where Willy Went," are in the "public's best interest."

More on "Where Willy Went" a children's book listed at Amazon for ages 4-8.

However, when little Edna is old enough to start school, she isn't very good at math but she IS very good at swimming. This breezy and amusing romp may not resolve those pesky questions about reproduction but it certainly lends personality to the process of fertilization. The double-entendre title is indicative of the cheeky and humorous text, which is lively, well paced, and essentially accurate. The line and watercolor illustrations perfectly suit the irreverent tone and include a lift-the-flap expanded page and a "find Waldo"-style spread. Both sperm and humans are endearingly expressive. As to the science, an unclothed Mr. and Mrs. Browne are anatomically correct but the racing map of Mrs. Browne's reproductive system is confusingly vague. Nonetheless, adult readers will be thoroughly entertained and children will be charmed if not completely informed. While a relatively innocuous and engaging piece of sex ed, this title could be a potentially provocative addition to picture-book collections.–Carol Ann Wilson, formerly at Westfield Memorial Library, NJ

Ms. Wilson writes: Children will be charmed if not completely informed...

Who in the library made the decision that four year-olds were in need of "sex education?" Why would a four year-old need to know about sperm? Why does Ms. Wilson remark that the title of the book could be "a potentially provocative addition to picture book collections?"

If librarians believe all reading materials should be available then I'm off to the local library for the latest edition of Hustler. A friend of mine told me, "if you find the Hustler, you'll find "Where Willy Went."

Pipe Bomb At NukePlant:

Plant Now on Lockdown:

VIDEO UPDATE: The Arizona nuclear plant, where an employee was stopped coming to work with a pipe bomb, is on lockdown. There have been statements that there was no domestic terrorism, but how often does a worker at a nuclear plant bring a pipe bomb to work? Any worker, for that matter.
No word on the background of the possessor of the bomb.

More from CNN:
A contract employee of an Arizona nuclear plant was stopped at a plant entrance Friday with an explosive device in his truck, officials told CNN. The capped pipe was found in the truck bed during a regular security search outside the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station -- the country's largest nuclear plant. developing story

A worker stopped outside the nation's largest nuclear generating plant with an explosive device has no apparent link to terrorism, a Maricopa County sheriff's official said.

A pipe bomb was discovered in the back of a contractor worker's pickup truck outside the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Wintersberg, about 35 miles west of Phoenix, triggering a lockdown and investigation, according Capt. Paul Chagolla with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
A local look at the incident was provided by Arizona Republic:
A suspicious item seized Friday morning from the truck of a contract worker at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station was an apparent pipe bomb, plant operator Arizona Public Service Co. said.

The worker has been detained and questioned.

The plant declared an “unusual event” and locked down the facility in response. The plant has several hundred contract workers on site working on upgrades.

The explosive device was described as a small capped pipe that contained suspicious residue, Chagolla said.

There's no information to indicate that there's domestic terrorism at hand," Chagolla said.

It was in plain view with no effort to conceal it, Chagolla said.

Chagolla said the bomb squad rendered the device safe and that investigators were interviewing the worker.

"It is an out-of-state subcontractor who resides in Phoenix in an apartment complex," Chagolla said. He said the man was originally from South Carolina.

In Washington, the Department of Homeland Security said there was no known terrorism link to the incident, and that the FBI and local law enforcement were leading the investigation.

NRC spokesman Victor Dricks said the worker was stopped and detained at the entrance of the plant Friday morning.

Security officials immediately launched an investigation and put the nuclear station on lockdown, prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving the facility.

When the residue couldn't be identified immediately, plant operators notified the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. So the plant is now under lockdown and no word still on the background of the person attempting to access the nuclear plants' grounds with a pipe bomb.

Nuclear plants and pipe bombs are an explosive recipe for disaster.
