McCain-Obama Debate: MSM Declares Obama Winner

Debate Winners Decided By Mainstream Media
But Only 19% Trust the MSM
A short history of the past several debates "winners"

Big Media Declare Victory for Its Candidate

Who won the debate between John McCain and Barack Obama?

Depends on who you ask.

Debate winners are in the eye of the beholder. If the beholder is a member of the Mainstream Media, you already knew the answer to the question before the debate was held.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS

* Washington Post - The Debate: An Edge for Obama
* CNN - Round 1 in Debate Goes to Obama, Poll Says
* Time - Grading the First Presidential Debate (Time's Mark Halperin--surprise!--gave the win to Obama.)
* CBS - CBS Poll: Obama Boosted Most by Debate

Rewind four years: back to the first Kerry-Bush debate. What judgment did our impartial media render then?

* ABC - Poll: Kerry Wins Debate, But No Change
* CNN - Polls: Kerry Won Debate
* CBS - Poll: Bush And Kerry Tied; Democratic Challenger Bounces Back After First Debate

Eight years ago, who won the first debate between Al Gore and George Bush?

The Daily Howler: "Gore won every instant poll that night, polls taken right after viewers watched his disgraceful conduct."

So, who won the first debate?

Readers can see that one of the favorite vehicles for MSM stories about debate "winners" is the poll. Another favorite: ask another MSM member who won.

CBS News issued their press release in the guise of another poll: predictably it claimed a win for--surprise!--Barack Obama.

Thirty-nine percent of uncommitted voters who watched the debate tonight thought Barack Obama was the winner. Twenty-four percent thought John McCain won. Thirty-seven percent saw it as a draw.

Who won last night's debate?

Depends on who you ask.

FAST FACTS:

Today is Barack Obama's 1342nd day in the U.S. Senate. He's spent 45%, or 602 of those days, campaigning for president. Obama has authored no major legislation. He's been in one presidential debate, that on the 601st day of his perpetual campaign.

Obama's voted "present" 129 times during his three years, eight months and 3 days in the Senate. Not "yes"; not "no": "present".

2007 Poll:
19.6% - trust the American Mainstream Media news organizations to deliver "news".
23.9% - believe little or nothing that comes out of the MSM;
55.3% - believe some of what Big Media spews.

Nazi Tactics Against the Obese in Mississippi

A short lesson in government. The representatives and senators in the State and Federal Government are your own elected officials, there to serve you, their constituency. It is up to you to pay attention to what these elected officials are up to once they take their oath of office.

There's a lesson to be learned in the state of Mississippi as three representatives, two Republicans and one Democrat, have introduced a bill which would make it illegal for restaurants or cafes with over seating over five to serve anyone who is obese.

In essence, making it illegal to serve "fat" people based on a government chart. "Health" Inspectors will be sent to eating establishments to ensure the establishment follows the law or the establishment can be closed down or fined. The first step in publicly shunning the fat person, turning them way with "shame." The food establishment caught in the middle.

The men who would use their state government to publicly shame the overweight:

Mississippi Democrat Representative Bobby Shows

· Forestry

· Ways and Means

Republican John Read

North East Louisiana University

Occupation:
Pharmacist

Committee Membership:

· Conservation and Water Resources
· Fees and Salaries of Public Officers

Republican W. T Mayhall, Jr.

Republican WT Mayhall, Jr., District 40, Desoto, Mississippi

2004-present

Northwestern University

Occupation:
Retired Pharmaceutical Sales
(DuPont-Merck)

Committee Membership:

House Bill 282, introduced by Show, Mayhill, Jr., and Read in the 2008 session in Mississippi.

"An act to prohibit certain food establishments from serving food to anyone who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health; to direct the department to prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese and provide those materials to the food establishments ; to direct the departments to monitor the food establishments for compliance with the provisions of this act; and for related purposes."

These men, with their bill, have bitchslapped every overweight voter who voted for them, every campaign dollar sent to them, every overweight person who pay taxes. Someone's mother, father, child or a tourist from out of state who is over the official "government" chart.

These men have overstepped their role as a representative by attempting to shun the "obese."

No studies have shown second-hand obesity to be dangerous to the general public. People are obese for a variety of reasons but to publicly shun and turn away overweight people is ugly and cruel.

We can write our outrage here on the pages of DBKP but it is the citizens of Mississippi who must step up to the plate and vote these men out of office, form a recall, do whatever it takes.

Criminalizing weight is a nazi tactic, pure and simple, no matter what reason or reasons given. The fact that these men believe they are introducing this bill for the "good" of Mississippi is "telling."

This is bill is not in the best interests of anyone other than a bloated bureaucracy of brownshirts marching into eateries with weight scales in hand.

Don't let your individuals rights slip away Mississippians.

Vote the bastards out. They are attempting to teach the "obese" a lesson. Time to teach these bastards a lesson in civics.

Overstep your bounds and you're out of here!
