Barack Obama:
Supporters Defy "Cult of Personality" Charges
By Stumping for National Obama Holiday

Might this be just a bit premature?

Plans are being formulated to promote a national holiday--for Barack Obama?

Obama, who is president-elect and has a number of interestingly-named websites, will become the nation's 44th president on January 20.

From the Topeka Capital-Journal, Planning under way for Obama holiday:

"Yes We Can" planning rallies will be at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the downtown McDonald's restaurant, 1100 Kansas Ave., until Jan. 13. The goals are to secure a national holiday in Obama's honor, to organize celebrations around his inauguration and to celebrate the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12 1809.

At 7:30 a.m. on Inauguration Day, Obama Cake will be served at the downtown McDonald's, and a celebration is scheduled for 8 p.m. to midnight Jan. 20 at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 420 S.E. 6th.

No word if Kool-Aid will be served with the Obama cake.

As a comment left on the C-J website exclaims, "Are you freakin kidding me? A national holiday for a guy who hasn't even shown if he can lead? He may be the president elect, but he hasn't even proven that he has what it takes to lead this country."

We will note for the record that Obama does has accomplishments:
  • He has headed up a presidential campaign
  • Has named two people to important posts in his incoming administration
  • Garnered 52% of the country's support in the just-completed election
  • Authored two autobiographical memoirs
  • Been a member of the U.S. Senate for almost four years
  • Excited supporters, and
  • come up with a variety of nifty pre-presidential seals featuring the words "Obama" and/or "Change"

January is already crowded with Hunt for Happiness Week (January 18-24); while January 20 is "Rid the World of Fad Diets and Gimmicks Day".

The month of January itself is recognized as California Dried Plum Digestive Month, among other things.

Why shouldn't he have his own holiday?

The King is honored (Elvis Presley Week(?) January 8-11), why not a day for The Messiah?

Illegal Immigration Video: How to Cut Crime

Your Ad Here

This week's Blogs4Borders weekly blogburst video report covers these two topics:

* You do the math: Lake County Illinois cuts murder rate in half utilizing 287(g) protocol.

* Uncounted Beans: Kansas politicians on the other hand are quite happy to have illegal aliens killing their citizens.

Illegal immigration is one of those issues that political hacks won't do anything about--until the first terrorist attack comes from unsecured borders. Then, they'll do what they do best: point fingers and over-regulate the law-abiding.

All the talk about "homeland security" is just talk until the borders are secure.

Woman Sits on Toilet for Two Years; Criminal Charges Mulled

When in the Army at Ft. Carson, in Colorado Springs, CO, someone asked about traveling through Kansas. The reply was always that it took a long time to drive across.

One G.I. said:

Q: What do you remember about going through Kansas?
A: Dead dogs and dirt.

It was supposed that he meant that there was nothing to do in Kansas.

Apparently, that might have been the case of a 35-year-old Kansas woman, whom police reported was on her toilet seat for two years, actually becoming welded to the seat.
"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body. It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself," Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple told the Associated Press, explaining it appeared her body fat had grown attached to the seat.

According to the wire service, police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh as if she were using the john. Her legs appeared to have atrophied.

"She was sitting on the toilet and was somewhat disoriented," Whipple said. "She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave."

The story has many questions marks attached to it.

WTF?

Did no one miss her?

Did the woman make no attempt to get free?

Was she content to remain where she was?

The story continues to offer information, but the information provided only raises more questions.
The woman has not been cooperative with authorities, and after initially refusing medical services, she was convinced to be taken to a hospital in Wichita to be examined. She's now listed in fair condition

"We pried the toilet seat off with a prybar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

The woman's boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, but never explained why it took him two years to call.

Whipple said the boyfriend had brought the woman food and water for two years and claims he asked her daily to get off the throne.

"And her reply would be, 'Maybe tomorrow,'" Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The next line was the most unbelievable part of the entire story to us.
Authorities are now presenting the facts of the matter to the county attorney to see if the 36-year-old boyfriend should face any criminal charges.

Huh?

Criminal charges? Are we missing something here?

A neighbor, James Ellis, told AP he had known the woman since she was a child and remarked, "It really doesn't surprise me."

Maybe there just wasn't much to do the last two years in the part of Kansas the woman lived in.

WTF?
