Dog Gives Birth to Mutant Creature

The New Pravda's Rebirth

"In Prava, there is no Ivestia and in Ivestia, there is no Pravda."

--Saying in Soviet Russia

Pravda (The Truth) and Ivestia (The News) were the Soviet Union's government-sponsored methods of distributing what "news" the communist leaders allowed their citizens in the USSR.

It was not very much fun to read, whether you were a Russian or foreigner.

After the fall of the Soviet Union and the rebirth of Russia, along with St. Petersburg, there was another rebirth: that of Pravda.

The Russian newspaper, once studied like tea leaves by the CIA and other intelligence agencies hoping to glean news from what was not said and reading between the lines, is now the Russian version of the New York Daily News, the National Enquirer and the Post--all in one.

Pravda is nothing but entertaining these days.

We saw this story last week of a dog giving birth to a 'mutant creature resembling a human being' and forgot about it.

We found it today and thought, "What the hey!"

There's not much information along with the pictures, but we figured 'a picture is worth a 1000 words', so we included two pictures.

Other stories Pravda is covering include, "Men can Really Breastfeed and have a Third Nipple" and "Russian Designer invents Flying Rug".

How times change.

The next time anyone is fretting about the state of the world and worried for the future, just remember Pravda.

From a bland, colorless, government mouthpiece, to--well, we're not exactly sure how to classify Pravda now.

But they are not the old Soviet-style paper, that's for sure.

"Dog Gives Birth to Mutant Creature that Resembles a Human Being" is the strongest testimony we've found yet.

Liberal San Francisco Changing Views?

[BBC photo]

by Mondoreb
Oh no! Say it ain't so!

It wouldn't be the same with San Francisco to kick around anymore. One need look no further than the 'City by the Bay' to see the daily replays of Leftism-Gone-Wild. But is that about to change?
From the San Francisco Chronicle:
San Francisco - the liberal, left-coast city conservatives love to mock - could be undergoing a transformation when it comes to homeless people. Although the city would still be a poor choice for a pep rally for the war in Iraq, indications are that residents have had it with aggressive panhandlers, street squatters and drug users.

"Maybe there has been an epiphany," says David Latterman, president of Fall Line Analytics, a local market research firm. "People have realized they can hate George Bush but still not want people crapping in their doorway."
Whew! For a moment, visions of San Franciscans tuned to Fox News and celebrating Karl Rove's birthday with a prayer in their schools danced in one's head. Boston's a poor second when it comes to cataloging Liberalism's excesses: Irish-Catholics are a bit more conservative in outlook than Gomorrah-by-the-Bay's Folsom Street Fair community. As one fellow explained:
"I don't expect it to be Cow Hollow or Pacific Heights," [David Kiely, who has lived in the South of Market area for 18 years his wife, Jenny, and their three boys, ages 7, 4 and 1.] says. "But the other day Jenny is bringing the kids back from the park, and some guy is standing on the corner throwing up on himself."
Although the boys are at the age when someone else throwing up spurs a debate on how 'gross' or 'cool' it is, it's not a picture they want to take to "show and tell".

Like their name implies, conservatives hate change. The traditional has value, even the traditional that became radical forty years ago. It brings a peace to know that Right Wing Madmen will have San Francisco to make fun of for a bit longer. An old friend is staying put.

Even if he happens to be throwing up on himself.

CHAVEZ ORDERS TIME TO STAND STILL-VENEZUELA TO COMPLY "Call Me Kooky, But I Know What I Want"

by Little Baby Ginn & Mondoreb

CARACAS (Reuters) - President Hugo Chavez wants Venezuelan clocks turned back half an hour and he wants it done in record time -- next Monday.

"I don't care if they call me crazy, the new time will go ahead, let them call me whatever they want," Chavez said on his weekly TV show. "I'm not to blame. I received a recommendation and said I liked the idea."

Chavez, otherwise known as "that big, old lovable anti-American lug of a South American tyrant" to Democrats, never confused about his vitriol for the U.S., does get rattled when it comes to telling time.
In his live show, he called on his brother, the education minister, so that the two men could explain the measure. But they mistakenly told Venezuelans to move their clocks forward at midnight on Sunday, when the policy is to move them back.

Senor Emperor Chavez has announced no timetable for his plans on holding back the sea and defying the International Court concerning the Law of Gravity.
