WRAL.com is reporting that a Multi-alarm fire reported at Robbins' plant. Firefighters from 17 fire departments are fighting the blaze at the former Milliken textile plant.

The fire broke out at the 286,000 square-foot industrial plant located at 200 Kennedy Street on Sunday morning.

All 17 fire departments in Moore County have responded to the fire.

Why do we mention this?

This textile mill, located in the Raleigh-Durham-Fayette area, is the same plant that John Edwards' father, Wallace, was employed for a time.

This was pointed out by DBKP reader, Patricia, who also observed, "...many people in Robbins worked [there]. What a shame for Robbins. It was vacant, but could have been used for other purposes other than a mill."
