Admit it! Just the word makes blood quicken and the keys type a bit faster. Pirates are back in the news: the U.S. Navy played the part of the British Navy during the 17th and 18th centuries and rescued a ship from--Pirates!

While crew members battled pirates hand-to-hand on the ship, the U.S. also played the part of the U.S. Cavalry and came to the rescue from--Pirates!

CNN had the best lead paragraph, so we'll start there.

The crew members of a North Korean freighter regained control of their ship from pirates who hijacked the vessel off Somalia, but not without a deadly fight, the U.S. Navy reported Tuesday.

When the battle aboard the Dai Hong Dan was over, two pirates were dead and five were captured, the Navy said.

Three wounded crew members from the cargo ship were being treated aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS James E. Williams.

The captured pirates were being held aboard the North Korean vessel, the Navy said.

The bandits had seized the ship's bridge, while the crew kept control of the steering gear and engines, the Navy said.

A U.S. Navy destroyer helped sailors who retook control of their vessel Tuesday in a deadly battle with pirates after the North Korean-flagged ship was hijacked in the piracy-plagued waters off Somalia, the American military said.

The Navy also confirmed that other American warships sank two pirate skiffs late Sunday after answering a distress call from a hijacked Japanese chemical tanker and said U.S. ships were still monitoring that vessel.

In Tuesday's incident, a helicopter flew from the destroyer USS James E. Williams to investigate a phoned-in tip of a hijacked ship and demanded by radio that the pirates give up their weapons, the military said in a statement.

The crew of the Dai Hong Dan then overwhelmed the hijackers, leaving two pirates dead, according to preliminary reports, and five captured, the military said.

Three seriously injured crew members were taken aboard the Williams, the statement said. The captured pirates remained on the Dai Hong Dan, which the crew was returning to the port of Mogadishu, Somalia's capital.

"When we get a distress call, we help," said Cmdr. Lydia Robertson, spokeswoman for the U.S. 5th Fleet, told The Associated Press by telephone from Manama, Bahrain.

ISRAELI commandos from the elite Sayeret Matkal unit – almost certainly dressed in Syrian uniforms – made their way stealthily towards a secret military compound near Dayr az-Zawr in northern Syria. They were looking for proof that Syria and North Korea were collaborating on a nuclear programme.

Israel had been surveying the site for months, according to Washington and Israeli sources. President George W Bush was told during the summer that Israeli intelligence suggested North Korean personnel and nuclear-related material were at the Syrian site.

Israel was determined not to take any chances with its neighbour. Following the example set by its raid on an Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osirak 1981, it drew up plans to bomb the Syrian compound.

But Washington was not satisfied. It demanded clear evidence of nuclear-related activities before giving the operation its blessing. The task of the commandos was to provide it.

If North Korean lies and deceit were oil, the renegade Asian pariah would be rich beyond belief. The radioactive dots are there for any and all to connect. North Korea suspended its own nuclear weapons talks earlier this month. Was this just another in a long, long line of North Korean deceptions and diversions?

Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.

The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.

They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

While the world waits for the arrival of the President of Iran on US soil to address the UN General Assembly on Tuesday the news of the daring raid by Israeli commandos seizing nuclear material of North Korean origin in Syria has gone largely unnoticed by the MSM.

Ahmadinejad is supposed to directly address the people of the US in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” airing Sunday night along with appearances at Columbia University, after all, Ahmad is an “official” celeb these days. Prior to his leaving Ahmad was up front and center during the “celebration” of the 27th anniversary of the Iraqi Invasion Of Iran.

TEHRAN, Iran - A day before flying to New York to speak directly to the American people, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad struck a confrontational tone Saturday with a parade of fighter jets and missiles and tough warnings for the United States to stay out of the Mideast.
Three new domestically manufactured warplanes streaked over the capital during the parade marking the 27th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Iran, which sparked a 1980-88 war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. The parade also featured the Ghadr missile, which has a range of 1,120 miles, capable of reaching Israel.
Some of the missile trucks were painted with the slogans "Down with the U.S." and "Down with Israel." The parade also featured unmanned aerial surveillance drones, torpedoes, and tanks.

While Columbia University sets up its welcoming committee for Ahmad and rolls out the red carpet the news of the Israeli’s hitting the nuclear materials site in Syria after the commando raid confirmed the Syrians were in cahoots with the North Koreans, it’s been reported several of Kim’s guys were killed, the Really Big Story wasn’t about this it was about Ahmad’s attempts to show sadness by laying a wreath at the site of 9/11.

Why do I mention Ahmad in connection to Syria? Syria is nothing more than an arm of the Iran Revolutionary Guard. There are those here in the US who believe that Iran truly needs nuclear power, that no matter what Ahmad says about how they plan to "eradicate" Israel and the Jews, that he must be essentially a "good guy" who wouldn't, couldn't lie. Could he?

Syria, Iran's puppet, has been literally caught in an effort to pry open Pandora's Box. There was a time when people knew the horrors that would be unleashed upon the world if that box were to ever be opened. Those days seem to be over. Perhaps it is because those who witnessed Hiroshima and Nagasaki are old and no longer viable to the "Progressives" who embrace and believe the likes of Ahmadinejad. The very same "Progressives" who pander to this evil little man.

TWO PLUS TWO: Syria Trades Farm Products For N.Korean Missles, Israel Seizes Syrian Nuclear Material

What happens when you mix nuclear material and missiles? You get a existential threat to the state of Israel.

A report says North Korea has trained Syrian missile engineers and the Arab nation has bartered farm products and computers for missiles from the Stalinist state. Syria has shipped cotton, food and computers to North Korea in return for buying short-range missiles, the report said.

N. KOREA DENIES ANY NUCLEAR HELP TO SYRIA "And we never lie..."

The world is increasingly relying upon Israel to keep nuclear materials out of the hands of rogue regimes in the Middle East.
North Korea has denied suppying nuclear materials to Syria. An alleged Israeli bombing attack against Syrian targets was rumored to be for destroying nuclear materials.

North Korea's Foreign Ministry said the country has upheld a pledge made last October, when it conducted its first-ever nuclear test, that it would be "a responsible nuclear weapons state" and not transfer any nuclear material out of the country.

The North "never makes an empty talk but always tells truth," the ministry said in the statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.

And the world knows how responsible the North Koreans are. They never lie and always tell the truth.
