Sheila Jacson Lee Praises Obama, Votes No on Bailout

Sheila Jackson Lee:
Obama delivered votes for bailout--except hers, of course...

Here's the transcript of the operable portion of the video:

McCain's coming in and talking about he had the votes and only delivered 65 Republicans. Compared to Obama's steady hand and actually 140 Democrats voted.
First of all, irony alert, Sheila Jackson Lee voted AGAINST the bailout. So here she is bragging about Obama's ability to deliver votes. Meanwhile, he failed to deliver her vote.

Second, Obama did not lift a finger to deliver votes...he didn't even travel back to Washington. This from the New York Times:
Aides to Mr. Obama said he had not directly reached out to try to sway any House Democrats who opposed the measure.
Even if Obama had delivered the votes, she's claiming that the bill failed to address the needs of the American People. What she's really telling us, is that Obama delivered vote's for a sh*tty bill. So much for the steady hand. They must think we're really stupid. [read more]

NBC: Nothing But Crap

The network of Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews and Rosie O'Donnell has finally found something really objectionable--a salute to U.S. troops.
WASHINGTON (AP) - NBC has rejected a TV ad by Freedom's Watch, a conservative group that supports administration policy in Iraq, that asks viewers to remember and thank U.S. troops during the holiday season.

NBC said it declined to air the ad because it refers to the group's Web site, which the network said was too political, not because of the ad's message.

"Anybody in the world who would look at this ad would come away with nothing other than we should be thankful for their service," Freedom's Watch president Brad Blakeman said.

The spot was to be part of a seven-figure campaign that includes newspaper ads and television commercials. The ads are to run on CNN and Fox News Channel and are running in various newspapers. The New York Times ran a full-page Freedom's Watch ad Friday that said "Thank You!" and depicted a soldier reading a letter. The newspaper ad also contained the Web site address.

Alan Wurtzel, NBC's head of standards and practices, said the network decided not to run the Freedom's Watch ad because the group insisted that the spot contain the URL address of its Web site.

The group's home page links to another Freedom's Watch Web page that lists nonprofit organizations that are sending care packages to soldiers and that suggests other ways of expressing support.

It also contains a welcoming message that states: "For too long, conservatives have lacked a permanent political presence to do battle with the radical special interests groups and their left-wing allies in government."

"We have a policy that prohibits acceptance of advertising that deals with issues of public controversy," Wurtzel said. "This particular ad, in and of itself, is fine. It thanks the troops for their action overseas. We asked them to eliminate a URL address where a person is asked to contact elected officials and told not to cut and run on the war on terror."

NBC rejected a previous Freedom's Watch ad that addressed funding for the troops.

"It's a long-term policy, it goes back decades," Wurtzel said of NBC's stance of declining controversial issue advertising.

He suggested that Freedom's Watch did not alter the ad in order to force NBC to reject it and thus get media attention.

NBC can dance and spin all they like: people will watch the video, read the story and come to their own conclusions on this.

And they will most likely decide that they won't end their apathy concerning either NBC or MSNBC's network televised offerings.

Maybe when NBC viewership sinks below that of the Fatty Foods Network or Breathing for Credit Channel, someone will have the sense to let a businessman run the network.

Instead of the rabidly Left ideologues in charge now.

New CNN Poll:

Hillary Leads, But is Glass
Half-Empty or Half-Full?

The CNN Poll, how to read it:

Is the glass is half-empty or half-full?

The new CNN poll will be spun both ways. Hillary Clinton remains the leader and is the one to beat is the way CNN and others will spin it. She's on top.

But her numbers are slipping and no one else in the field has her name recognition is another spin from those who have hopes of topping Clinton. She's on her way down.

More from CNNCNN:
Clinton's path to the White House is in no way certain. Clinton was criticized for her performance during a debate last week, and her rivals for the Democratic nomination have stepped up attacks that she has equivocated on her position on Iraq, Iran and other major issues.

The Republican presidential candidates have also stepped up their attacks on the Democratic front-runner, with each suggesting that he has the best chance of stopping Clinton.

The attacks may be working. The CNN/Opinion Research polls suggests that Clinton's support has slipped from its height one month ago.
The breakdown for the contenders. REPUBLICANS:
In the Republican presidential race, Giuliani continues to be the leading candidate, with the backing of 28 percent of the Republican primary voters polled. Former Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee was backed by 19 percent. Sen. John McCain of Arizona was the top pick of 16 percent, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney had 11 percent.

Of the remaining Republican candidates, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee received 10 percent, Texas Rep. Ron Paul 5 percent, California Rep. Duncan Hunter 4 percent and Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo 3 percent.
And the numbers for the Democrat hopeful. DEMOCRATS:
Clinton is the top choice of 44 percent of the likely Democratic voters interviewed for the poll. Her closest rival, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, was the top choice of 25 percent, and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina has 14 percent.

All other Democratic candidates were in single digits. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson was backed by 4 percent, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware by 3 percent, Sen. Christopher Dodd by 2 percent, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich by 2 percent and former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel was at 1 percent.
One year to go until the 2008 elections. One long year.

And the day after the elections, you can bet that someone will start the discussion about 2012.
