A Democrat congressman makes a claim that was televised on C-SPAN that some congressmen were told that if the bailout bill wasn't passed, there would be "martial law in America"--and the Mainstream Media is silent.


"The only way they can pass this bill is by creating and sustaining a panic atmosphere. … Many of us were told in private conversations that if we voted against this bill on Monday that the sky would fall, the market would drop two or three thousand points the first day and a couple of thousand on the second day, and a few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no."

A C-SPAN video of Rep. Brad Sherman speaking to Congress during the bailout bill. Sherman rightly says that "creating and sustaining a panic atmosphere" was in play. After seeing this video, an attempt was made to find out more about Sherman's claim.

Googling was little help.

The Washington Post ran a story October 2 which claimed that Sherman was "spectacularly unpopular" with Democrat and Republican House leadership over his opposition to the bailout bill.

If the House of Representatives was a playground, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) might be most likely to get beat up.

Sherman, who led the House revolt against the bailout bill this week (and will do so again on Friday), has become spectacularly unpopular with both the Republican and Democratic leaderships, not to mention K Street.

Lobbyists and House aides were gossiping this week that House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) angrily told the more diminutive Sherman in front of his colleagues at a Democratic caucus meeting last week to "shut up and sit down."

On the martial law theme, there were a few articles mentioning "a little-noticed story...a couple of weeks ago in the Army Times newspaper about the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team."

A little-noticed story surfaced a couple of weeks ago in the Army Times newspaper about the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team. “Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months,” reported Army Times staff writer Gina Cavallaro, “the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.” Disturbingly, she writes that “they may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control” as well.

It's disturbing that no rebuttal or confirmation of Sherman's claim has been offered.

It's even more disturbing that no Mainstream Media news organization has investigated the scary claim in Sherman's speech.

Perhaps they were too busy hyping the "Financial Meltdown" and shilling for the bailout.

But the war has simply shifted to a different arena. If you're an Islamist, it's time for Plan B.

Islamists aren't dummies: even as al-Qaida is destroyed on the battlefield, those determined to rule the world using Islam as their vehicle, prove to be adaptive adepts.

Those who kill in the name of Allah are stealthily using their enemies' system of freedom against them. In Canada, it's filing charges against best-selling author, Mark Steyn with the Human Rights Tribunal. In the U.K., radical Islamists, allied with the multicultural/PC-for-lunch-bunch is slowly grinding down a thousand years of English law and tradition.

In America, a healthy Islamist grievance industry--headed by CAIR--and gaming the victimization bureaucracy are two prongs of a three-tined fork of attack. What's the third?

That would be the academic jihad: using a mushy multicultural education establishment and the means of academia to further cultural ends.

Red Planet Cartoons is all over this in "The Academic Jihad".

It turns out that Western liberal democracies can be subverted without firing a shot.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the educational realm. Islamists have taken what’s come to be known as the “soft jihad” into America’s classrooms and children in K-12 are the first casualties. Whether it is textbooks, curriculum, classroom exercises, film screenings, speakers or teacher training, public education in America is under assault…

The Chronicle's Stillwell goes on to list a representative sample:

* Last month, students at Friendswood Junior High in Houston were required to attend an “Islamic Awareness” presentation during class time allotted for physical education. The presentation involved two representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an organization with a record of Islamist statements and terrorism convictions. According to students, they were taught that “there is one God, his name is Allah” and that “Adam, Noah and Jesus are prophets.”

* Earlier this year at Lake Brantley High School in Seminole County, Fla., speakers from the Academy for Learning Islam gave a presentation to students about “cultural diversity” that extended to a detailed discussion of the Quran and Islam. The school neither screened the ALI speakers nor notified parents.

If the speakers in the examples above had been fundamentalist Christians, the ACLU would have set a new land-speed record for filing a lawsuit over separation of church and state.



Stillwell continues:

* As reported by the Cabinet Press, a school project last year at Amherst Middle School transformed “the quaint colonial town of Amherst, N.H., into a Saudi Arabian Bedouin tent community.” Male and female students were segregated, with the girls hosting “hijab and veil stations” and handing out the oppressive head-to-toe black garment known as the abaya to female guests. Meanwhile, the boys hosted food and Arabic dancing stations because, as explained in the article, “the traditions of Saudi Arabia at this time prevent women from participating in these public roles.”

* Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, a charter school in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., came under recent scrutiny after Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist Katherine Kersten brought to light concerns about public funding for its overtly religious curriculum. The school is housed in the Muslim American Society’s (the American branch of the Egyptian Islamist group the Muslim Brotherhood) Minnesota building, alongside a mosque, and the daily routine includes prayer, ritual washing, halal food preparation and an after-school “Islamic studies” program.

The educational establishment in America has a recent history of indoctrinating students in cultural ideology, and now theology, contrary to parents' wishes. Protesting parents are usually made out to be benighted primitives, standing in the way of their children's education by their enlightened betters.

The National Educational Association, the largest teachers' union, has long been a hotbed of Leftist cant. Apparently, many of their members have joined hands with Islamists, bent on changing the cultural landscape of America through educational indoctrination.

The Islamists couldn't have picked better tools for their subversive mission.

Locally-controlled school boards and parents who are aware are two roadblocks in this process, though the federalization of education continues to strip power away from both.

Individuals sounding the alarm are another.

Illegal Immigration and the Return of American Slavery

Slavery In Modern America




The conviction and sentencing of Mahender and Varsha Sabhnani, for the torture and enslavement of two Indonesian maids, has once again brought to the forefront the issue of slavery in modern America.

This case, which made international headlines, in part because of the International cast of characters as well as the reported wealth of the perpetrators, was colored with salacious testimony. Ms. Sabhnani, an Indonesian married to an Indian--purportedly a Hindu version of Cruella de Ville--was a very successful business woman who resided in The Long Island Gold Coast. Both she and her husband were US citizens.

Allegations of abuse included beatings with brooms and umbrellas, slashings with knives, being made to repeatedly climb stairs and take freezing cold showers as punishment for misdeeds that included sleeping late or stealing food from trash bins because they were poorly fed.

Samirah, the woman who fled the house in May, said she was forced to eat dozens of chili peppers and then was forced to eat her own vomit when she failed to digest the peppers, prosecutors said."

"Enung testified that Samirah's nude body once was covered in plastic wrapping tape on orders from Varsha Sabhnani, who then instructed Enung to rip it off. "When I pulled it off, she was screaming," the housekeeper said through an interpreter before breaking down in tears on the witness stand."

Varsha was given 11 years, her husband, who never laid a hand on the women, was given 3 years, 4 months. The case generated publicity for a number of reasons.

Although this was initially thought to be a recurrent case of Muslims enslaving others, it does not appear that is true. But the victims were Muslims, (as was the alert Dunkin Donuts employee who fed, consoled and called the police for one of the escaped maids), and this generated anger in the Muslim blogoshere.

Because only Muslims get to enslave others, you know.

As to that proposition, there have been such cases. They gather headlines, but there is no pattern--other than the arrogance of the Saudi royal family, something that even other Muslims have trouble stomaching.

Saudi Gets 27 Years to Life for Enslaving Maid

WASHINGTON, 1 September 2006 — A Saudi man convicted of sexually assaulting an Indonesian housekeeper and keeping her as a virtual slave was sentenced yesterday to 27 years to life in prison in Colorado

Homaidan Al-Turki, the 37-year-old Saudi national, denied the charges and blamed anti-Muslim prejudice for the case against him. He said prosecutors persuaded the housekeeper to accuse him after they failed to build a case that he was a terrorist.

Al-Turki, who was studying for a doctoral degree at the University of Colorado, was convicted June 30 of unlawful sexual contact by use of force, theft and extortion. All are felonies.

He was also convicted on misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and conspiracy to commit false imprisonment. This next one involves a lovely Saudi Princess:

According to a press release(Sept, 1, 2006) issued by The United States Department of Justice, Hana F. al Jader, a Saudi Princess, was arrested today on charges of forced labor.

According to the allegation, al Jader used coercion to keep two Indonesian women as domestic servants for her and her family. Al Jader is alleged to have confiscated the women's passports, restricting their freedom of movement and preventing them from fleeing.

After the women's visas had expired, al Jader unlawfully prevented them from leaving. Al Jader is further charged with grossly misrepresenting the contract she made with the two women. The contract stated that the women would earn $1500 a month and work less than 8 hours a day. In reality, the women received $300 per month and worked well over 8 hours per day.

If convicted, al Jader faces up to 70 years in prison.

Her lawyer argued that her culture allowed such behavior.

How cool. American Feminists stormed the court room. Not.

As the State Department insists on bringing more of these Saudi barbarians into America, the problem will likely persist, at least on a sporadic level. Why the Bush Administration thinks that bringing in as many of these disdainful, sybaritic enemies of America as possible--which the Saudis are without a doubt--is a mystery to everyone.

Everyone but their handlers--oops, I mean hand holders--in Washington.

But there is a much worse problem than the boutique slavery of wealthy ethnics that look upon American mores with contempt. That is trade in human beings for sex.



The Girls Next Door

On a tip, the Plainfield police raided the house in February 2002, expecting to find illegal aliens working an underground brothel. What the police found were four girls between the ages of 14 and 17. They were all Mexican nationals without documentation. But they weren't prostitutes; they were sex slaves. The distinction is important: these girls weren't working for profit or a paycheck. They were captives to the traffickers and keepers who controlled their every move.

''I consider myself hardened,'' Mark J. Kelly, now a special agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security), told me recently. ''I spent time in the Marine Corps. But seeing some of the stuff I saw, then heard about, from those girls was a difficult, eye-opening experience."

This disgusting template is repeated throughout the nation. It is not only Mexican coyotes and drug dealers who are involved: usually through false offers of employment, young women from East Asia are lured into brothels in America, stripped of their possessions, beaten, starved, raped and turned into compliant whores.

With limited ability to speak English, an unwillingness to confide in their families because of the shame, and no one to appeal to locally, the girls are made to feel that their life is the norm in America. Many of these women are educated, middle class girls.

She and five other sex workers would share a dingy apartment on O'Farrell Street across from the Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theatre. She'd spend her waking hours at Sun Spa, having sex with more than a dozen men a day, six days a week, and scurrying into secret hideaways during police raids. --- You Mi finally summoned the courage to call to her mother for the first time since she'd landed in California. Her mother was furious. By now she had figured out that You Mi was in the United States. You Mi suspected her sister couldn't keep the secret. "Mama, don't worry, the U.S. is a rich country, and I can pay the debts working here," You Mi said. There was silence on the other end of the line. Finally, her mother asked You Mi what kind of work she was doing. You Mi paused. "I have two jobs. I work in a restaurant in the day and a bar at night. I'm only getting five or six hours of sleep, but I'm making good money," she said. You Mi's mother didn't know very much about the United States, yet You Mi wasn't sure her mother had been fooled. Her mother didn't ask any more questions. You Mi didn't offer any more details. After You Mi said goodbye, she thought about her situation and got angry. She made up her mind to work as hard and fast as possible, even during her period, just so she could get out. A university student who thought America an opportunity to payoff a student loan.

The CIA, in conjunction with the State Department, estimates that 50,000 people are trafficked into the USA every single year; and, while some transit to Canada, the vast majority remain in the USA as sex slaves or in involuntary servitude, i.e. domestic workers or house slaves.

There are a number of US citizens likewise trafficked, but the number is unknown. This has diminished significantly in areas where pimping is treated as a class A Felony with mandatory sentencing. The foreigners who own foreign slaves are much more brazen, both because the USA treats them as cultural misfits, and because they can return to their place of origin.

The real question is: how and why is this happening in America?

The answer is a surprising one. Every case cited here involved illegal aliens. The sex trade happens because our borders are porous and the "employers" of these women and children (a small but significant part of the trade is kids of both sexes) know that the chances of a raid by ICE agents is remote.

Much of the trade is conducted in and through through sanctuary cities.

For example, most of the trade in oriental women transits San Fransisco--whose misguided policy on illegals virtually guarantees unhindered operations for the crime syndicates. Likewise, Tucson and Los Angeles serve as the point of arrival for Hispanic slaves.

America has been badly served by our politicians. Instead of a beacon of hope, the Federal government's unwillingness to enforce the law is slowly turning this nation into a dangerous, lawless, slave market for thousands upon thousands of women and children.

And, like illegal immigration in general, the Federal government refuses to acknowledge the same in order to protect domestic employers of illegals.

President Bush has proved himself to be a firm ally of illegal entry into America, turning ICE into a useless entity, the staff being incompetent , with politically correct patrons.

Barack Obama and John McCain have both enunciated policies that are likely to vastly increase these social pathologies.

America's Economy: Resilient or Declining?

America in economic decline?

Everyday, it seems there is a new economic statistic about a weakening US economy or a news report about the US$ dropping in value against other currencies.

My answer is: NO.

Maybe right now the dollar is at a low level and portions of the American economy could be better, but the overall economy is solid and the dollar weakness is temporary. If you read history, it seems to be a good rule to never underestimate the American people or our economy. In fact, i think some of the nation's best economic times lie ahead.

I'm writing this mostly because I'm a member of a very popular website called Little Green Footballs (www.littlegreenfootballs.com). Due to my online name (chicagodudewhotrades) I get asked a lot of stock market and economic questions by my fellow LGF'ers. Writing this I hope will help my LGF friends out. This is my first attempt at writing something like this, so don't beat me up too bad!!!

I'm also writing this because I get tired of the mostly negative coverage of the economy by the national media. This is my small attempt to try and convince my fellow Americans that the economy isn't as bad as portrayed.

What gives me the right to write about economic issues? In a word: Nothing. I'm not a economist or a CEO of a business. I don't have a Ph.D in Economics or International Finance. The bulk of my professional trading experience comes from several years spent working as a clerk in the trading pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. However, I have been able to make a decent living from day-trading the last few years. Day-trading is a very brutal, Darwinian profession. You either make money at this or go bankrupt. I'm still doing this, so I figure my ideas and advice have some credibility.

I think the best way to explain why I believe America's best economic days are ahead of us is to run down what is happening in the world and what I think may happen in the future.

Europe

The European Union has become a huge entity whose member states have a combined population of nearly 500 Million (1). However, I have come to believe that they are too big, too slow ,and most damaging, too bureaucratic.

Yes, right now the Euro is doing well against the Dollar. However, people seem to forget that a few years ago, the euro was trading at a record low of 82 cents against the dollar. (2)

Inflation is above the European Central Bank's public goal of 2% and rising (3). Western Europe has also always had systematic higher unemployment historically than the US. Eventually, economic fundamentals like these will catch up to the Euro.

You may read a lot about the grim future of Social Security. That is true. Basically, starting in a few years, more money will start being taken out of the program than going into it. However, Europe faces the same demographic issue. The big difference is that the working-age population of Europe is declining while America's is increasing.

Asia

Today when you think of Asia, one country comes to mind: China. China is a huge country with a huge population. Because of low wages, China has become the manufacturing center of the world. All that manufacturing has brought huge sums of wealth into China.

But China has many issues. All that manufacturing has lead to huge environmental problems (4). Thanks to China's brutal 1-child policy and a Asian cultural preference for male babies, China has demographic imbalances in their youngest generations. How can a nation be successful with a demographic imbalance like that? China's biggest problem however, may be it's own Communist government. Folks, I don't know any other way to say it.: Communism , Socialism, etc, just doesn't work.. Eventually, China will pay a huge price because of their system of government. Free, democratic, open market economies work, nothing else comes close. It is truly that simple and basic.



Africa

It is hard to write off a entire continent, but unfortunately that is what I'm basically doing with Africa. I don't think Africa has moved beyond a tribal identity yet. They will not grow or be economically successful until the people of Africa start thinking in terms of national identities and not just tribal.

Middle East

Currently the Middle East is doing well because of high oil prices that bring huge amounts of wealth into their nations. Historically, however nations with commodity-dependent economies do not succeed in the long run. There is a theory in economic circles called the "commodity curse" . The theory states that commodity-dependent nations get politically and economically lazy because of the easy money pouring into their economy. I think this will happen in the Middle East someday. The Mid-East has one principle export: oil. What happens when that export runs out? There are questions about the true proven reserves of both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (5). Back in the late 1990's when oil prices were low. Saudi government bonds were rated "junk" status. This will give you a idea of what happens to the economic prospects of the region when the wells run dry.


Latin America

Latin America seems to be taken a turn for the worse lately. A couple governments seem to be going back down the Socialist path. Once again, democratic free market economies work, everything else doesn't come close. Democratic open market Brazil and Colombia are doing well. The ones going down the socialist path like Venezuela and Bolivia will have problems.

I see some parallels between the Middle East of today and the Japan of the 1980's. Remember how everyone thought back then that "Japan, Inc." was going to be the world's largest economy and how they would be the globe's dominant economic power? How did that work out for Japan? I do think that the sub-prime mess and resulting housing price slump will continue to hurt the American economy.But this is a incredibly flexible economy that will survive this mess. In fact, i think the sub-prime problem will hurt other economies worse than ours just because our national economy is so resilient and others aren't.

Last October, a book which gave a glimpse of what America would look like under Islamic, or sharia, law.

It would be a much different looking country than what Americans are now used to.

It would also be a country in which those who raise their voices the loudest against the United States' fight against Islamist terrorists would be the first to feel the ire of America's new masters.

Beheadings, stonings and honor killings would be common-place if American ways weren't changed--and changed in a hurry.



"Schmoozing with Terrorists" by Aaron Klein was the number 1 book on Amazon.com about the Middle East.

Klein, an ABC reporter who was banned from Syria because of his religion, conducted a series of interviews before the book came out with leaders of various terrorist organizations.

It's extremely revealing what party and candidate the terrorists are all rooting for in the 2008 American elections.

Of the interviewed terrorist leaders, every single one of them said they hoped a Democrat becomes president in 2008.

9/11 was America's most disturbing experience with terrorists.

Before the 2006 U.S. midterm elections, Klein conducted a series of interviews with senior Middle East terrorist leaders who urged Americans to vote for Democrats. al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades leader Jihad Jaara told Klein a Democrat win would ensure victory for worldwide jihad, explaining the Democrats policy of withdrawal from Iraq would "enhance the resistance."

Klein also read to the terror leaders statements from prominent Democrats such as House minority leader Nancy Pelosi claiming a withdrawal from Iraq would end the insurgency there.

All terror leaders interviewed rejected the claim.

Islamic Jihad leader Muhammad Saadi said an American withdrawal would "prove the resistance is the most important tool and that this tool works." Jaara declared a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq would "mark the beginning of the collapse of this tyrant empire (America)."

Pelosi got in some practice wearing a headscarf

Nancy Pelosi, in particular, was much appreciated by the terrorist leaders. If the Speaker of the House continues her unauthorized diplomatic attempts in the Middle East and her anti-military votes in the House, she may well earn the plaudits of as many terrorist leaders as well as her constituents in San Francisco.

Of course, Pelosi would likely not have to worry about sharia--she wore a hijab on her visit to Syria.

In April, 2007, when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Syria and called for dialogue with Damascus against the stated recommendations of the White House, Klein conducted interviews with Mideast terror leaders whose headquarters are in Syria.

The terrorists called Pelosi's visit "brave" and "very appreciated" and said it could bring about "important changes" to America's foreign policy, including talks with "Middle East resistance groups," Iran and Iraqi insurgents.
One terror leader, Khaled Al-Batch, a militant and spokesman for Islamic Jihad, expressed hope Pelosi would one day become U.S. president, explaining the House speaker's Damascus visit demonstrated she understands the Middle East.

But assuming that Pelosi and her fellow Democrats have their way and sharia law does ever become the law of the American land, what can Americans expect?

Bars and clubs would be closed down, church bells would be banned, non-Muslims would pay special, extra taxes and Madonna and Britney Spears would be put out of their misery.

In the book, various leaders took turns describing everyday life in the U.S. if al-Qaida or other terrorist groups won the war on terror.

"Once Islam dominates, anyone living inside the Islamic state must abide by our rules. There is no choice. You will abide or face the punishment," said Muhammad Abdel-El, the spokesman and a senior leader of the Popular Resistance Committees terror organization.

Sheik Abu Saqer, a prominent Gaza-based preacher, a founder of the Sword of Islam terror group and a subscriber to the ideology of al-Qaida, explained if Islam controls the U.S., all American women, whether Muslim or not, must cover their hair.

"This is the demand of our religion. Being and walking naked doesn't mean that you are enjoying more freedom; it means that you are going against Allah's laws and you are serving the enemies of Islam who want to empty our Islamic society from its values. Uncovered heads is a form of nudity."

Yasser Hamad, a cleric and a Hamas leader in the northern West Bank, explained in "Schmoozing" Islamic law enforcers would at first try to persuade American woman to cover their heads, but eventually females would be forced. Those women who refuse may be stoned.

Asked by Klein whether stoning was too harsh a punishment, Hamad replied:

"If you don't respect the local law in America, if you don't pay taxes, if you drive on a red light, aren't there sanctions used against you by your government? Of course there are and it's okay with you. Why is there a problem when it comes to the Islamic state that wants to impose its rules?"

Sharia would likely not bother those Americans who are in the habit of proclaiming, "There ought to be a law."

There will be plenty of laws.

Hamad and other terror leaders stated all Jews and Christians living in the U.S. once Islam takes over would need to pay the jizya, a special protection tax, and other special taxes for non-Muslims, including one for the right to cultivate land. Non-Muslims cannot own land themselves.

Saqer said no new synagogues or churches can be built in the Islamic state. Existing houses of worship may remain, but services cannot be conducted loudly or in any public fashion. The ringing of church bells or blowing of the ceremonial Jewish shofar would be forbidden, the terror leaders said.

"For every sin and crime there is a sanction."

That is how Hamad explained sharia in the U.S.

"Prostitution: one hundred whippings; if the prostitute was married, he or she will be stoned until death; for a thief, his hand will be cut. But before enjoying the primitive nature of Islam and before you express how much you are shocked by our rules, I must say that these are not immediate sanctions, but they are used only if the person was warned."

Hamad explained prostitution doesn't mean selling sex; he said the Islamic definition applies the term to all extramarital sexual relations. But he boasted Islam's allowing men to marry many women was a perfect remedy for prostitution.

"In order to prevent prostitution and before reaching the sanctions of stoning or whipping, we will marry all our unmarried young. By the way, Islam allows the man to marry four women, so if he or she keeps practicing sex outside marriage and prostitution, in this case the sanctions mentioned in Quran will be used."

The terror leaders all said alcohol would be banned and American movies and television would be shut down. DEA agents would likely notice no change, as they would still be employed.

The war on drugs is one aspect of sharia law that is already implemented in America now.

"American culture is very cheap and very corrupting. Your American culture is based on capitalism, on democracy, sex, and other principles that go against the nature of human beings as Allah created. We will fight all that this culture represents and promotes," said sheik Saleh Faraj, one of the main leaders of the Islamic Liberation Party in the West Bank.

Freedom of the press in America would mean: no freedom. In the American Islamic state, the terrorists said once Islam rules the U.S., American media outlets that don't conform to disseminating Islamic messages will be closed.

They said that the NY Times, CNN and the Washington Post would all likely be banned.

"The media will be closed not because there will be no freedom but because what is the logic of allowing the activity of media that can endanger the political and social stability of our state?" said Nasser Abu Aziz, no. 2 of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group in the northern West Bank.

One thing the terrorist leaders had in common with the American Left and Media Matters is an intense dislike for the FOX News Chennel, which some called a "network of evil."

That's the terrorists' appraisal.

Abu Abdullah said, "The evil FOX encourages a lack of respect to Islam and resistance movements and will cause moral confusion and negative political influence."

There is a possibility American music may be altogether banned if Islam takes over. Saqer explained in "Schmoozing," some Islamic experts and sages, including those of the school of Egyptian scholar Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, allow music; while others, like those belonging to the Islamic Salafite school, forbid music.

Multiple terror leaders had never heard of many top singers in the U.S., but Klein said they were all familiar with Madonna and Britney Spears.

"Unfortunately, I heard the names of Madonna and Spears on [Arab] television when parents complain that their children neglect their studies and their values because they are influenced by your cheap American music that you call culture," said Saqer.

Hamas's Abu Abdullah said, "At the beginning, we will try to convince Madonna and Britney Spears to follow Allah's way. But I honestly don't think they will follow. If they persist with their whoring music, we will prevent them by force. I don't think that I can be in the same place with these singers. They might be killed if they do not respect our laws."

A stoning offense

The Committee's Abdel-El, whose group previously bombed Americans, said, "Their music video clips will be forbidden and these whores Madonna and Spears will be thrown in jail until they admit they made sins and return to the moral way. If they don't, they will be stoned to death or eighty times hit with a belt."

Abdel-El said even before Islam takes over America, he would personally kill Madonna and Spears if he ran into them.

"If I meet these whores I will have the honor ? I repeat, I will have the honor to be the first one to cut the heads of Madonna and Britney Spears."

The terrorists repeatedly state that their goal is a worldwide Islamic caliphate.

"We see already in America a nucleus of Islam, a base for Islam. This will become bigger, stronger, more important, until Islam will take control and will seize the power in America and the world," said Faraj.

Abdel-El affirmed, "America will be overthrown. We are seeing more and more signs that prove that the process had already started."



So that's what America will look like if the leaders of the terrorist groups that some Americans insist do not threaten us ever come to power.

During the Cold War, there was a segment of the American political spectrum that was always advising against fighting the Soviet Communists. They blamed America for every confrontation with the Communists.

Their motto was:

"Better Red than dead."

These Americans would transition easily to sharia law.

They're many of the same ones who are counseling "submission" in the war on terror.

Sharia is all about submission.

Or you die.

At Least in America, We Have Free Speech, Right?

Mark Steyn highlights a right that Americans have that most of the rest of the world doesn't, Freedom of Speech. As it's enshrined in the First Amendment, most Americans are taught about it from an early age--or at least, they used to be.

Now, Americans are taught that some speech is free. Other speech is "hate" or "objectionable" or, on the internet, "spam". Especially if the person doing the labeling of the speech disagrees with it.

Americans have been lectured over the last six years that we "were out of touch" with the rest of the world, especially the European democracies. This supposed disconnect with the rest of the world was used as evidence that changes were needed.

As Steyn puts it in Dead Man Writing
[The Corner at National Review Online]:

One of the critical differences between America and the rest of the west is that America has a First Amendment and the rest don't. And a lot of them are far too comfortable with the notion that in free societies it is right and proper for the state to regulate speech.

He then goes on to list some of the countries Americans normally think of having free speech and how those countries have recently dealt with speech they considered 'disagreeable'.

* The response of the EU Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security to the Danish cartoons was to propose a press charter that would oblige newspapers to exercise "prudence" on, ah, certain controversial subjects.

* The response of Tony Blair's ministry to the problems of "Londonistan" was to propose a sweeping law dramatically constraining free discussion of religion.

* At the end of her life, Oriana Fallaci was being sued in France, Italy, Switzerland and sundry other jurisdictions by groups who believed her opinions were not merely disagreeable but criminal.

* In France, Michel Houellebecq was sued by Muslim and other "anti-racist" groups who believed opinions held by a fictional character in one of his novels were not merely disagreeable but criminal.

* Up north, the Canadian Islamic Congress announced the other day that at least two of Canada’s “Human Rights Commissions” – one federal, one provincial – had agreed to hear their complaints that their “human rights” had been breached by this “flagrantly Islamophobic” excerpt from my book, as published in the country’s bestselling news magazine, Maclean’s.

He provides a chilling look at the Canadian government's method of dealing with disagreeable, upsetting speech. He also provides for the defense of his best-selling book, America Alone, which has upset Muslims north of the border.

If the Canadian Islamic Congress wants to disagree with my book, fine. Join the club. But, if they want to criminalize it, nuts. That way lies madness.

America Alone was a bestseller in Canada, made all the literary Top Ten hit parades, Number One at Amazon Canada, Number One on The National Post’s national bestseller list, Number One on various local sales charts from statist Quebec to cowboy Alberta, etc. I find it difficult to imagine that a Canadian “human rights” tribunal would rule that all those Canadians who bought the book were wrong and that it is beyond the bounds of acceptable (and legal) discourse in Canada.

As I say, I find it difficult to imagine. But not impossible. These "human rights" censors started with small fry - obscure websites, "homophobes" who made the mistake of writing letters to local newspapers or quoting the more robust chunks of Leviticus - and, because they got away with it, it now seems entirely reasonable for a Canadian pseudo-court to sit in judgment on the content of a mainstream magazine and put a big old "libel chill" over critical areas of public debate.

The "progressive" left has grown accustomed to the regulation of speech, thinking it just a useful way of sticking it to Christian fundamentalists, right-wing columnists, and other despised groups. They don’t know they’re riding a tiger that in the end will devour them, too.

Hate speech, hate crimes: the whole idea that some groups or speech have a "special", extra-constitutional right to protection, oftentimes at the expense of the rest of society. That this speech, these groups need more protection than the Consitution itself can provide, is a recent one in America.

The entire category of hate crimes should offend Americans. It attempts to criminalize thought processes in a manner that smacks of political correctness and thought-policing. The criminality of murder springs from the loss of life, not from the motive. Regardless of whether a husband hates a wife or a stranger hates a minority, murder remains murder, assault remains assault, and all should be vigorously prosecuted regardless of apparent bigotry or lack of same.

Congress shouldn't expand hate-crime categories; they should eliminate them. Crimes like murder, assault, and the like don't belong under federal jurisdiction in any case. The states have jurisdiction over these crimes, unless someone can prove a violation of the Constitution, which usually applies to such crimes committed under color of authority.[1]

But surely, losing freedom of speech couldn't happen in America? Not with our First Amendment?

Think about it the next time an aggrieved group trots out the label "hate speech".

Think about this the next time a college or university disciplines, expels or suspends a student for saying something the college thinks will "foster an unfavorable environment".

Think about it the next time the NCAA disciplines a college sports team for using a Native American nickname--whether the tribe in question approved it or not.

Think about it the next time protesters disrupt a meeting, debate or speech-- conservatives are the targets at the moment, but it could be liberals in the future--by physically attacking them.

Think about it the next time some group calls on Congress or a state legislature to designate disagreeable speech as a "hate crime".

Think about it the next time Environmentalists compare any dissenting opinions, research or information that runs counter to "Global Warming" or "Man-made Climate Change" to Holocaust Denial, i.e., "hate speech".

Think about it the next time the headlines scream "Man Arrested for Child Porn" and a closer reading finds that his crime was not possessing any child porn, but images that "appeared" to be of the offending material.

And lastly, think about it VERY hard the next time you hear of a law being considered to outlaw various speech on the Internet--arguably, the freest forum left where Americans and others around the world can speak their minds.

It can't happen here in America?

Think about it.

A nice article from Bloggers New Network about Black America: Does it forgive Dog the Bounty Hunter? The story below speculates that they do, based on the response from Dog's black fans.

We got one such letter yesterday at DBKP. It's after the story below.

A majority of African Americans who saw Duane Chapman’s interview on Larry King express a willingness to forgive dog the bounty hunter provided his remorse and humility was genuine. I made a point of asking one of my neighbors who is black to watch the show so I could solicit his opinion. ”Mostly I would say its his upbringing that caused him the trouble” my friend remarked. I asked if he felt it would be appropriate for A&E to give him his job back. “Yea and he should spend some of the salary they pay him on adult education”. ”The thing is, Not so much what the “Dog” was saying” ”It’s a black minister willing to come on National t.V.’ and say now look here brothers and sisters, I am this mans spiritual leader and while he may need counseling on the use of profanity and slurs he is not a racist and I am also telling you he is a believing Christian and a friend of mine”

The king interview revealed a man who confirmed my previous opinion its not so much an issue of racism with the Dog as it is a lack of education and impulse control. Some cash spent on a few verbal advantage tapes and anger management courses would be a good step toward achieving his stated desire to become something other then where he came from.

I speculate many African Americans would object and loudly if A&E or another network decides to return the Dog to America’s living room. But the final decision comes down to dollars and cents. Dog has lots of fans and those fans some of who are black are the ones who ultimately decide what sells and what does not.

I want to send you an e-mail to let you know that I and my non-white family are behind the Dog! He said nothing but an exagerated swear word for what the "duo" must have already done before this incident...

Not only that the conversation very private, but also made public by people that you must doubt integrity and motives; how did they get Dog talking like that despite of his "one of the boys" attitude even with criminals...???? Like my grandson may say,"are you nuts?"

Ruin then anyone who say the word, white or black, grey or yellow...whatever race, rather than hulk in the shadows, wait. then wait for judas and girlfriend with 30 pieces of silver to buy a private conversation. Guess what? Enquirer do not have any ethics, but they showed Dog's son and his girlfriend to be the bad guys here... They must have known the common swear word in the prison, in the house, in Dog's experience, and they entrapped Dog to say it. Wake up everyone, punish the real culprit. Dog takes care of his family; his son and girlfriend want to destroy the family and its livelihood.

Never met Dog except in his tv show that I watch regularly, but I feel for him and the rest of his family...

Iran Celebrates National Day Against Global Arrogance: Less Celebration in America

Celebrating the first notch on the belt of the Great Satan's warriors. Wonder if they had any barbecue?

Iranians took to the streets last week to commemorate National Day Against Global Arrogance (NDAGA). One of the events it celebrated was the Iranian shin-kicking of the "Great Satan" in 1979.

The rallies marking this year's National Day Against Global Arrogance, an Iranian tradition since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, started Sunday across the country.

Students from schools and universities converged at the site of the former US embassy in Tehran, better known in the Iranian history as the "Den of Spies."

November 4 holds great significance in Iranian history because of three decisive events: the conquest of the former US embassy in Tehran by Muslim Students (1979), the sending to exile of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini by the ex-shah (1964) and the designation of the day as Students Day (in remembrance of several students martyred in 1978 while taking part in a protest rally against the former shah).

Americans remember the event a bit differently.

Some shouted slogans against the "occupying Qods regime. Some shouted slogans against the United States. Some, one imagines, shouted slogans to attract attention to themselves.

The Iranian celebration of NDAGA prompts a thought: some of the same Americans whose policies turned out so wrong then, are urging American leaders to follow their policies presciptions now. Those policies are the familiar mix of thumbsucking, handwringing and enemy-coddling that helped to create the Islamic Republic 28 years ago.

Those policies have led the world to a situation where a country has, for the first time, vowed to erase another from the map if given the means to do so. Those means are being pursued furiously every day. If Iranian policy is not changed, a day beckons when Israel will be a memory.

And if past statements by Iran's leaders are to be believed, other sites down the memory hole might be Denver, St. Louis, Miami, or Boston.

Bad policy and inaction 28 years ago started this thorniest of problems. Bad policy and inaction today will make the first NDAGA celebration seem like a quiet picnic.

Welcome To America, Ayaan

Ayaan Hersi Ali is back in the US. Originally from Somali, she fled to the Netherlands and was threatened by Dutch Islamic terrorists. She fled again to the USA, returned to the Netherlands, and is now back. Her story.

Suppose you were born a woman in Somalia. And suppose you were married off to a distant relative you didn't know. And suppose you escaped all this and fled to the Netherlands, where you enjoy a different life. And suppose the worst elements of Islam followed you there. And suppose, despite international sucess, you were hounded and threatened. And suppose the Dutch government no longer would protect you from those elements which threaten Dutch society. And suppose you had to flee again.

Picture all that and you would have a tiny overview of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who now is in the United States. And hopefully, she feels a little safer.

Christopher Hitchens may not have it quite right in his rants on God, does have it right on many things. The Ali story is one of these. Hitchens in Slate:

Three years ago, at a conference in Sweden, I was introduced to a Dutch member of parliament named Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Originally born in Somalia, she had been a refugee in several African countries and eventually a refugee from her own family, which had decided to "give" her in marriage to a distant male relative she had never met. Thinking to escape from such confines by moving to the Netherlands, she was appalled to find that radical Islam had followed her there—or in fact preceded her there—and was proselytizing among Turkish and Moroccan and Indonesian immigrants.

Her accomplishments, from Wikipedia:

She has received numerous awards for her human rights work, and in 2005, was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She is currently a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.

As of October 2007 she has been doing this work from a secret address in the Netherlands. Following the murder of Theo Van Gogh, the Dutch government had been financing round the clock security for her. However, they decided to stop paying for protection while she is living abroad. As a result, Hirsi Ali returned to the Netherlands.

Once before in the USA, then forced to leave, and now back again. As Michelle Malkin put it:

According to Anne Applebaum, courageous Islam critic Aayan Hirsi Ali is now back in the US after being forced to leave briefly when the Dutch government moved to revoke funding for her guards unless she returned there. The bad news is, the free speech rights of those who dare to question the “Islam is peace” mantra remain under assault by jihadists and dhimmi apologists

So Ali is back and hopefully she can find a safe and fruitful life in America. Her story is an inspiring one to anyone who has lived in fear.

And she might just testify that she's found freedom and safety in America. Not the fearful fascist Nazi police state that so many on the Left, who have no clue of living in fear themselves, fantasize about.
