Sex: eHarmony, Nudity and Proof that Sex Sells

Sex Goes Public

The days when sex was a private matter between two consenting adults are gone for good. Sex is now public. In a big way. Subject to instruction, modification and definition by an ever expanding array of bureaucrats, courts, religious leaders, organizations and miscellaneous busy bodies.

Now that it is out of the closet, public sex is being used in a variety of ingenious ways. Mexico City just decided to give out Viagra to every male over the age of 50. Mayor Marcelo Ebrard says the city is implementing the plan because sexuality "has a lot to do with quality of life and our happiness."

In Australia, an official 'sex' party, having enlisted the necessary 500 members, will get an official entry into national politics when it registers with the electoral commission next week. This new sex party sees itself as "a political response to the sexual needs of Australians in the face of moral campaigners and prudish politicians."

Here in the USA, the left has long been adamant about keeping the government out of bedrooms. With the recent defeat of gay marriage in three states however, they're changing their tune. Government is now OK, as long as it hews to the progressive view.

What can't be accomplished at the ballot box is now being accomplished by activist judges.

Dating site, E Harmony, originally founded to promote traditional love and marriage, has bowed to a court order and officially agreed to begin matching homosexual couples, beginning next year.

The courts may also replace the people's votes, especially on California's Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage. The California Supreme Court just agreed to hear legal challenges to this voter-approved measure. If past rulings are any indication, the voter's will be over ruled, once again, by the elites on this left leaning, activist court.

Sex sells. It's controversial and titillating. And government isn't the only sector rushing in to use sex to promote their own agenda. In South Carolina, a with-it pastor last week challenged his congregation to 7 days of sex. "We want couples to intentionally walk, even run, toward the marriage bed and away from sin city."

Advertisers, long known for pushing the sexual envelope, are pushing it even further. Penthouse is looking to buy a casino on the Las Vegas Strip and generate business by tying it to the adult magazine and Web site.

In Australia a holiday resort is planning a month-long, nude, "anything goes" party. Ostensibly to divert people's attention from the messy economic downturn.

I expect more 'let them eat cake' bacchanals will follow.

After all, the masses must be kept happy. And want harm is there in making a profit at the same time? As long as we don't call it capitalism, it should be a sure winner, as a company in Massachusetts is finding out. Their new ad campaign, promoting a web site that informs people how to cheat on their spouses, is generating tons of publicity.

Organizations are jumping on the public sex bandwagon also. PETA, which bills themselves as an 'animal rights' group, is planning to stage a nude protest to discourage locals from attending an upcoming Ringling Brothers Circus show in Louisiana. The appalling mental images that spring to mind actually serve to increase PETA's latest bid for yet another 15 minutes of conversation on the national stage.

Sex in public is the new 'in' thing. Granted, you might still be subject to arrest if you engage in sex too openly, as one 41 year-old woman recently did on a crowded train in England. But for your average high-schooler here at home, being caught engaged in the 'non-sex' Bill Clinton made popular, only serves to enhance one's You Tube reputation.

Traditional sex, which includes love and marriage and a private setting, is sneered upon by the enlightened elites who are intent on transforming a once beautiful act into a useful tool to be used to further diverse agendas.

It remains unlikely that traditional, Christian men and women will be able to put this genie back into the bottle. Pandora's box has been opened and the ramifications will continue to affect ever increasing segments of what used to be 'polite society'. Unless, of course, we can find a way to bring shame back into the public arena. Here's hoping.

Down Under: TV Ads Carbon Offsets

Global Warmists: New Frontiers

In one of those departures from reality so common among Global Warmists, we learn that television advertising has a huge "carbon footprint". Out of Australia, where wombats and moonbats frolic together, we here at DBKP were horrified to learn:

AUSTRALIAN television advertising is producing as much as 57 tonnes of carbon dioxide per hour, and thirty second ad breaks are among the worst offenders, according to audit figures from pitch consultants TrinityP3.

TrinityP3 managing director Darren Woolley said emissions are calculated by measuring a broadcasters’ power consumption and that of a consumer watching an ad on television in their home, B&T Magazine reports.

“We look at the number of households and the number of TVs, and then the proportion of TVs that are plasma, LCD or traditional, and calculate energy consumption based on those factors,” Woolley said."

Now, the curious might ask: why anyone would care about this?

TrinityP3 (Isn't the excess use of the 3 carbon wasteful?) helpfully explains.

"TrinityP3 is formalising a standard carbon footprint measurement of advertising, which it claims will be the first of its kind. "

Yeah.

And my soon-to-be-assembled dog bowl collection will be the first of its kind. So what?

Obviously this useless blather is about an attempt to sell consulting services to idiot advertisers--intent on trying to appease their moronic audiences--by somehow implying that they have balanced their carbon footprint. Most commercials are between 15 and 30 seconds. The programs run 40 minutes to the hour. So if you really wanted to save on energy, keep the advertisements and get rid of the programming.

That should work just fine.

Aussie Streaker Gets Whalloped on Cricket Field

Aussie streaker Robert Ogilvie, age 26, picked the wrong time and the wrong place to run last night at the second day final cricket match between India and Australia in Brisbane.

Ogilvie admitted he'd had a bit to drink before he took off his clothes and ran out onto the field where 30,000 fans were in attendance and got more than they and Ogilvie bargained for.

Batsman Andrew Symonds won't be charged while Ogilvie was fined $1500.00 by a local magistrate.
Asked by reporters if he felt embarrassed by his antics, Ogilvie replied: "No. Not really."

He added that he would not do it again saying: "Nah, Nah. Done it once."

Admitting it had been the first time he had streaked, he said: "You only live once."

Men with Machetes Rob Aussie Club, End up Hog-Tied

Robbers wearing ski masks and waving machetes burst into a western Sydney club in Australia Wednesday evening only to end up hog-tied and beaten by bikers.

The robbers had burst into the club and yelled at the patrons to "lie down" while they attempted to rob the cash register. What they didn't realize was that 50 members of the Southern Cross Cruiser Club were meeting in another room.
‘We caught him at the fence and crash-tackled him and hog-tied him to the ground and waited for the police to get there,’’ Jester said.

There's an estimated 35 outlaw biker gangs in Australia with 3,500 members. Aussies call them "bikies."

In 2007 the Aussie police vowed a "crackdown" on bikies during the funeral of a member of the Bandidos. The police were going to "get tough" by issuing tickets for not wearing a helmet and that all bikies were licensed and their bikes registered.

This action by the Aussie police stems from violence between different gangs, shootings and arson over "drug distribution."

As for the two robbers, in trying to escape the bikers one leapt off a balcony while the other tried to flee through a service entrance only to end up slightly beaten but humiliatingly hog-tied.

Aussies "Grow Trees" into Furniture, Art

It's called the art of Pooktre, growing and shaping trees into art and furniture. It's the invention of Australian, Peter Cook.
In 1987, he had been at one of his favorite places were three large fig trees nestled under the cliff face. As he was walking home from the cliffs behind the cabin the idea came to him, “I wonder if I can grow a chair”. Telling his partner at the time about his idea, she hated the concept.
The more he thought about it the more logical it seemed. Not deterred he started the very next day. He took 7 cuttings from a willow and planted them in a U shape in the area where he directed the waste water from the cabin. Source - Pooktre

Nine years later Peter joined up with Becky Northey. Located near Brisbane, Peter and Becky tend their garden, Pooktre Tree Shapers.
