John Edwards Scandal: Edwards, Hunter, Young, Baron and Karma

KARMA COALITION
John Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Andrew Young, Rielle Hunter, Fred Baron

The saying goes that good karma is like a boomerang; the more good karma one spreads, the more you get back in return. However, to those associated/affiliated with John Edwards and Rielle Hunter, the opposite seems to be in play.

Take, for example, Elizabeth Edwards, the wounded spouse in this tawdry affair. Denied a run for the White House by primary voters, the Democratic Convention was supposed to be the Edwards’ centerpiece for health care reform.

Instead, due to the fallout from John Edward’s tawdry escapades, a prime-time speech slot was hastily rescinded. Worse, while Elizabeth Edwards received an initial burst of goodwill and enthusiasm from disappointed Democrats, that goodwill disappeared in the night like will o’ wisp through inopportune interviews where it was revealed that Elizabeth had been complicit in her husband’s perfidy.

As for John Edwards, he’s certainly kept a low profile these past months, at one point even being banished from the family home, and he canceled a slew of lucrative speaking engagements. Rumors persist that after the election, Edwards intends to mount a “comeback.” How he intends to do this remains unclear at this time; a round of Oprah, Leno and Letterman, perhaps?

Rielle Hunter seems to have drifted off the reservation, the frenzy around her seemingly abated. Tabloid press and gossip sites which ran Rielle Hunter 24/7 have, by all appearances, called off the dogs. Even the National Enquirer seems off the hunt. If there are any more bombshells in the Edwards-Hunter arsenal, perhaps the NE is holding it until after the election.

Andrew Young, the ex-John Edwards staffer and alleged “father” of Baby Frances Quinn, is supposedly back in North Carolina, along with his wife and other children, awaiting the completion of his million-dollar mansion, the one he built with no visible means of support.

Unfortunately for Fred Baron, the Texas lawyer and Democrat big wig who financed Hunter and Young’s cross country trips and manse rentals out of the goodness of his heart, he’s in the battle of his life.

According to his son Andrew, the elder Baron was recently diagnosed with final stage Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow, and given days to live.

After initially being denied access to Tysabri, a last chance experimental drug undergoing clinical trials, despite entreaties by President Bill Clinton, Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator John Kerry, Senator John Harkin, Lance Armstrong and Dr. Andrew Von Eschenbach (head of the FDA), Baron is now receiving the drug under the auspices of The Mayo Clinic.

NOTES:
* Does John Edwards plan on trying to resurrect his political career? Apparently so. The ex-VP candidate and NC Senator has speaking engagements planned for after the election, starting with an appearance at Indiana University on November 11.
* Elizabeth Edwards says that her condition has not worsened, according to reports. She continues to speak in favor of socialized health care.
* Rielle Hunter is rumored to be co-producer of a movie, a move some are saying is one of the quiet payoffs for remaining quiet over the paternity of her daughter.
* The New York Post is rumored to have new photos coming out in the near future of Rielle Hunter and daughter, Frances Quinn.
* Andrew Young, according to some sources, has moved into his new multi-million dollar home. He is still reported to be without visible means of support.

Hillary: Let's Attack the Black Guy for Drugs

Clinton campaign adviser, Sheehan?

The Washington Post's headline read "Clinton NH Campaign Manager Warns Obama Will be Attacked on Drug Use".

It was correct. The attacker was Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The Clinton campaign responded today to the threat of Sen. Barack Obama overtaking the former first lady in the polls.
Billy Shaheen, the co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign in New Hampshire, raised the issue of Sen. Barack Obama's past admissions of drug use in discussing the relative electability of the Democrats seeking the presidential nomination today.
The Clinton campaign has wasted no time in dealing with what it must consider an electoral challenge from the junior senator from Illinois.

Barack Obama's open admission of his youthful behavior is no secret and he's made no attempt to conceal it.

Contrast that with the sly way Shaheen worked the issue of drug use in the statement from New Hampshire.
"The Republicans are not going to give up without a fight ... and one of the things they're certainly going to jump on is his drug use," said Shaheen, the husband of former N.H. governor Jeanne Shaheen, who is planning to run for the Senate next year.
Voters will likely forgive Obama for youthful indiscretions.

This latest attack may remind voters that Hillary Clinton's indiscretions have been a bit more recent.

Caution! Drug Smugglers Working: 2400-Foot Tunnel Discovered

Drug tunnel discovered not quite this large

South of the border and the living is easy. And the drug tunnels keep getting larger.

A story highlighting that drug smugglers are, at heart, entrepreneurs.
The entrance to a drug tunnel discovered yesterday in Tecate is in an office building about a block south of the border.

Although Mexican authorities were not releasing any details Tuesday morning, they did allow reporters to go into the tunnel, which has its U.S. exit in a large storage container about a quarter mile northwest of the Tecate border crossing. The entire tunnel is not passable because water has collected in it.
Drug smugglers often have access to large amounts of money, but it sounds like they've got a few engineers and geologists on their payroll now.
The tunnel, which passes under homes and businesses in Mexico, is carved through earth and rock and has what looks like electrical and drainage systems.

“This tunnel has similarities with the one found in 2006, such as the size, the dimensions, the pumping and lighting systems, but we haven't estimated the length yet,” said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The tunnel found last year measured about 2,400 feet, and authorities say it's the longest they have ever discovered. It was a sophisticated passage between Tijuana and Otay Mesa, and officials said drugs probably had been moved through it for several months.
2400 feet is almost a half-mile long--where was the dirt moved deposited? Drug smugglers apparently have an excavating capability now that's pretty impressive.
Blankets were scattered around the room where the Tecate tunnel entrance was found. Half-eaten food was in the room, along with a television and several pairs of boots. Several wheelbarrows were in the tunnel itself.
Sounds like a couple of lunchrooms we've been in.

Like all good tunnel builders, perhaps the smugglers collected tolls.

Does Britney Spears Have An Oxycotin Problem?

Latest Mishap Fuels Speculation

[graphic:RidesAPaleHorse]

Pain-killer Addiction the Reason for Recent Self-Destructive Behavior?

by Kimecools4 & Mondoreb

Celebrity Break Time:
Her latest irrational behavior, coming just after losing custody of her kids fueled speculation of what the problem could be. Is it an addiction to painkillers, specifically Oxycotin? First, the latest Britney Spears mishap from the AP and CNN:
It might just be Britney Spears' latest hit. Hours after losing visitation rights with her two young sons, the struggling pop star apparently ran over the foot of a photographer for celebrity Web site TMZ.com. Spears was driving away from a Beverly Hills medical building, her car surrounded by photographers, when the incident occurred about 5 p.m. Thursday.
Britney has many concerned about her. The latest appears to be Justin Timberlake's mom. From Ireland Online:
Troubled singer Britney Spears has a new addition to her growing army of concerned friends - former love Justin Timberlake's mum.

Lynn Harless has been making frantic trips to Britney's Beverly Hills home, where the 'Toxic' star is currently residing after losing custody of children Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline earlier this month.
Her recent lip injections didn't work out so well. From the Daily Mail:
Troubled pop princess Britney Spears has left her fans gobsmacked after lip injections have given her a trout pout.

The fallen pop star forked out to have her lips plumped up lsat week but ended up with slightly more than she bargained for.

Britney had hoped to keep the beauty treatment a secret, making a hush-hush visit to a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills last week – and came out concealing her mouth.

Now comes speculation from an unnamed source that Britney may be suffering from the over-use of the drug Oxycotin. One sign of Oxycotin addiction:
A lot of these signs of OxyContin addiction can make people think their friend is drunk.
From Addictionca.

The following are signs of Oxycotin use:
1-The person [does] illegal [acts].
2-A good sign of a new user is their inability to sleep. Increased night life?
3-They are EXTREMELY irritable. Like smashing photographers?
From All Expers.

Is Britney hooked on Oxycotin? Is the recent spate of continuous seemingly-irrational behavior the signs of someone in trouble? Does she need help?

All valid questions to ponder after the latest mishap of Britney Spears. it won't be the last speculation on the misfortune-bitten singer/celebrity.
