Is a Virginia school a beachhead for radical Islam or just a simple school. Federal authorities have recommended the Saudi-based school close. From the AP:

McLEAN, Va. (AP) -- A private Islamic school supported by the Saudi government should be shut down until the U.S. government can ensure the school is not fostering radical Islam, a federal panel recommends.

In a report released Thursday, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom broadly criticized what it calls a lack of religious freedom in Saudi society and promotion of religious extremism at Saudi schools.

Particular criticism is leveled at the Islamic Saudi Academy, a private school serving nearly 1,000 students in grades K-12 at two campuses in northern Virginia's Fairfax County.

One wonders why our good friends the Saudis are financing a school in the United states. What on earth could be their reasons? The school naturally disagreed with the findings. As The Captain's Quarters'x Ed Morissey posted:

The school itself disputed the report, at least as far as it concerned ISA. The Virginia school's director complained that the USCIRF had not contacted the school, nor had it reviewed the textbooks in use now. After a series of negative reports following 9/11, ISA claims it has replaced those texts with new books that do not contain any negative references to other religions, and that the Saudis consider ISA a model for school reform.

So the Saudis are interested in funding schools in the USA. It's noble for a kingdom that prohibits even the possession of a Bible within its borders to be financing schools in infidel America. Perhaps they find it pleasant.

To all those who followed this summer's New York maddrassa story, the radical nature of the curriculum to be taught there to US students came as no surprise. Teaching children that America is the "infidel" has been going on in the United States for some time. And to a large extent, the US has been financing the call for it's own destruction.

Of the more than 1,200 mosques in America, more than 80 percent have been built within the last 20 years – thanks in large part to Saudi money, according to Reza F. Safa, author of "Inside Islam."

"Saudi Arabia alone has spent $87 billion since 1973 to spread Islam throughout the United States and the Western hemisphere," Safa said.

US-Saudi Oil Imports Funds American Mosques

Saudi was home to 15 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers, as well as their leader, Osama bin Laden. And it has been a reluctant ally in America's war on terror. Now federal authorities are investigating whether Saudi laundered money to Islamic terrorist groups through U.S.-based Muslim charities. Some 80 groups have recently received subpoenas for financial records.

Now, this is may not be new to some, but it would shock the millions who depend upon the MSM to deliver their news. If the KKK or Neo-Nazis had attempted to set up schools and centers delivering the poisonous messages coming out of American mosques, CBS Evening News would have had Katie chasing the culprits, while the New York Times would have had it on page one everyday for the last 4 years.

Of course, the NYT was convinced the city's madrassa was benign. Everyone there knows that it's Christianity that's the real menace to domestic tranquility. Since it's only Radical Islam, CBS would make sure that Katie was in a burqua when she reported.
