OJ Set Up:
Plans to Tape and Televise Bust Revealed

OJ got setup.

After insisting that he was setup, word leaked from an FBI report that OJ Simpson was setup in the Las Vegas memorabilia bust. The FBI was informed of the planned OJ break-in and bust three weeks prior to the event.

A dealer planned to tape the entire thing and televise it.
OJ planned to tape the entire thing and televise it.
So, OJ set himself up.

More from the NY Daily News:
O.J. Simpson and a memorabilia dealer initially hoped to videotape The Juice's Las Vegas hotel heist and televise the operation to make money, an FBI source said Friday. What's more, federal agents learned about the ludicrous scheme three weeks before it took place Sept. 13, but did not pursue the matter beyond a written report, the source said.

Dealer Thomas Riccio told FBI agents Aug. 21 about Simpson's plan while talking to agents about another matter, the source said. Riccio did not mention that the confrontation would involve guns or Simpson taking items that did not belong to him.
Many people did not believe OJ. Now some evidence comes to light to support the "setup" charge. And this time, it was OJ that did the set up.

FBI Knew OJ Plans 3 Weeks In Advance

OJ Simpson's plans to break in and "retrieve" stolen items was known three weeks beforehand by the FBI. Someone squealed. The event was planned beforehand and leaked by someone to the FBI three weeks prior.

Was it a set-up? Who squealed? All interesting questions.

More from the AP:
Federal agents learned three weeks in advance that O.J. Simpson and a memorabilia dealer planned an operation to retrieve personal items Simpson said were stolen from him, according to FBI reports obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

Dealer Thomas Riccio said he reported to the FBI a collector who claimed to have belongings taken from Simpson.

"The guy flat-out told me he had items stolen from O.J.'s house," Riccio said. "I have a legitimate business."

Riccio told FBI agents Aug. 21 that Simpson wanted to videotape the confrontation with the collector, who was peddling thousands of pieces of Simpson's memorabilia.

But Riccio was not clear how the operation would unfold. There was no mention in the report of any plans to use guns.
