Peter Brimelow (born 1947) is a British American financial journalist, author, and founder of VDARE. Brimelow has been the editor of many publications, including Forbes, the Financial Post, and National Review. Outside financial circles, he is best known for his writings on immigration policy and hosting the anti-immigration website VDARE.com. Brimelow founded the Center for American Unity in 1999 and served as its first president, though he is no longer affiliated with the organization. He is a paleoconservative.

Illegal Immigration: Just Another Trendy Cause

Illegal immigration is a touchy subject in America. Immigration has always been a touchy subject to some, but illegal immigration is VERY touchy. The fact that there is even a debate on illegal immigration is a sign of the strength of liberals and fuzzy-thinking RINOs.

One would expect persons breaking the law to have arguments for their actions. When elected representatives--pandering for possible votes--put the wishes of outlaws over the well-being of their constituents, it's a hard thing to swallow.

But, the price today for John McCain and Ted Kennedy to have agreeable Washington cocktail party buzz is non-enforcement of immigration law; someone must bear the burden: for now, it happens to be law-abiding citizens of the USA. Couple of month ago, those paying the price were stockholders of oil companies; by the end of the summer, it may be families. One never knows what will next excite the mind of liberals.

Illegal Immigration: May Day or Che Day?

La Cosa Nostra perhaps should have employed the same PR tactic in the 1960s against the FBI as illegal immigration boosters use. Call the FBI agents "racists" and organize marches.

Americans of the 1960s would have easily seen through the tactic of calling law enforcement agencies, or citizens wanting the law to be enforced, "racists". It remains to be seen of Americans in 2008.

Polls consistently show Americans want border laws enforced in 2008. Polls also consistently show little faith in most of their present representatives to do so.

Note to Senators Kennedy and McCain, et. al., al-Qaida, gang members and members of drug cartels: attempts to enforce the law are not "racist".

Not that any of the above are known to be good listeners.
