John McCain: Claims of 911 Fauxtography are Faux

McCain's pin is not photoshopped:
Why we must hold both bloggers and MsM accountable
Rhonda Roland Shearer
Stinky Journalism

The blogger carefully examined a set of photos of presidential candidates McCain and Obama at 9/11 ceremonies at Ground Zero. Obama was clearly wearing his flag pin, however McCain, the blogger pointed out, was only wearing a pin in one photo but not in others.

Matt Collins wrote on his blog, Collins Onovia, “I happened to notice something interesting. It looks to me like someone photoshopped a flag onto McCain. As far as I could find, there were no other photos with the flag.”

“Take a look at the following pictures,” he continued. “Do you think this flag pin was photoshopped?” he asked. (See figures 1A-1D.)

Like a Tom and Jerry cartoon, the little guys—Collins/“Jerry” mice go after the huge “Tom” cats of inaccurate journalism. (See figure 1E.)

Most of the time, StinkyJournalism’s efforts to fact-check bloggers’ claims of fake photos score Bloggers 1 vs. Mainstream Media (MsM) 0. The doctored, staged or miscaptioned “fauxtograph” is eventually confirmed in our investigations.

In the wild and wooly bloggersphere of often rude discourse, this sincere effort by bloggers to debunk photos pulling the wool over the public’s eyes is refreshing, even noble in our view. The Internet leveled the playing field. The once truthful maxim citing the folly of fighting anyone who owns a barrel of ink no longer holds.

However, lately I ran into two counter examples that I felt should be noted. One of the two is Collins’ case of the supposed photoshopped pin on McCain’s jacket’s left lapel. The second case I will leave for another article. It involves a photo of a dying man in a hospital room that bloggers publicly questioned.

[ED. NOTE: The remainder of this story reads like a mini-detective novel. It's a good example of how one lone person, sitting in the seclusion of their office, with only their Internet connection and computer, can fact-check and out-perform both the MSM and the blogosphere.]

Mr ul Haq, 36, was educated and trained at an Islamic seminary in Britain and is part of a new generation of British imams who share a similar radical agenda. He heaps scorn on any Muslims who say they are “proud to be British” and argues that friendship with a Jew or a Christian makes “a mockery of Allah’s religion”.

According to an investigation by TimesOnline (UK), and reported by Reuters, almost half of Britain's mosques are under the control of a hardline Islamic sect whose leading preacher hates Western values and has called on Muslims to "shed blood" for Allah:

* Petraeus Report: The Only War Democrats are Willing to Fight

by LITTLE BABY GINN and MONDOREB

The Left's usual, reliable poodles are yapping again. This time, they're nipping at the heels of the upcoming report by General Petraeus on the situation in Iraq.

Fueled by this MoveOn.org ad in the New York Times this morning, the LA Times, Yahoo News, and like-minded MSM toadies, the 'surrender drums' are beating louder for a US defeat in Iraq, by any means necessary. It's a steady, unrelenting, unyielding, never-ending 'BOOM, BOOM, BOOM' from Leftards desperately needing, yearning, aching for a US defeat--any US defeat. They would support another invasion of Viet Nam if they were assured that US troops would die and we would run away.

That was what we were talking about at DBKP one year ago today: September 10, 2007.

Same as it ever was.

Rudy Giuliani Vs. Ron Paul on 9/11:

The Entire Exchange

Rudy Giuliani vs. Ron Paul on 9/11. [video 4:34]

If you put up a Ron Paul video, you hear both sides, you read both sides--there seems to be no middle ground on Dr. Paul. No comments or emails are ever received which say "Oh, I don't know how I feel about Ron Paul".

I hear people swear by Ron Paul; I hear others swear at him.

So, putting up any video invites attacks, even though most posters are passionate, yet perfectly civil. We thought this video would be a good illustration of the "No Middle Ground About Ron Paul" Theory. It's the famous exchange between Paul and Rudy Giuliani at the South Carolina debate earlier this year. It's the entire exchange: most anti-Paul videos cut away at Giuliani's applause. The pro-Paul videos we've seen only show Ron Paul's answer to Rudy.

At 4:34, this is the entire back-and-forth between the two men. Your position on the issues will naturally affect who you think came out on top here.

You be the judge.

Doris Lessing:"9/11 Attacks Not Bad" :

Nobel Winner Speaks Her Non-PC Mind

by Little Baby Ginn & Mondoreb

Doris Lessing, Nobel Literature Prize winner is a candid speaker. Usually it's Al Gore, then it was James Watson, now it's Doris Lessing. What is it about winning a Nobel Prize that almost forces the winner into inserting his/her foot into their mouth? It's a question some aspiring future winner in the Medicine or Physics categories might consider taking up.
From the AP:
Nobel laureate Doris Lessing said the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States were "not that terrible" when compared to attacks by the IRA in Britain.

"September 11 was terrible, but if one goes back over the history of the IRA, what happened to the Americans wasn't that terrible," the Nobel Literature Prize winner told the leading Spanish daily El Pais.

"Some Americans will think I'm crazy. Many people died, two prominent buildings fell, but it was neither as terrible nor as extraordinary as they think. They're a very naive people, or they pretend to be," she said in an interview published Sunday.
At least Doris Lessing is a colorful speaker. She had plenty to say and said it. And she was an equal opportunity basher, offending both Left and Right. On the subject of Iran:
I hate Iran, I hate the Iranian government, it's a cruel and evil government," she was quoted as saying.

"Look what happened to its president in New York, they called him evil and cruel in Colombia University. Marvelous! They should have said more to him! Nobody criticizes him, because of oil."
Nobody criticizes Ahmadinejad? The British media must be more controlled than we're led to believe. On the subject of Tony Blair:
"I always hated Tony Blair, from the beginning," El Pais quoted Lessing as saying. "Many of us hated Tony Blair, I think he has been a disaster for Britain and we have suffered him for many years. I said it when he was elected: This man is a little showman who is going to cause us problems and he did."
And she didn't leave out President Bush:
"As for Bush, he's a world calamity," added Lessing. "Everyone is tired of this man. Either he is stupid or he is very clever, although you have to remember he is a member of a social class which has profited from wars."
All in all, it was a breath-taking interview for the Nobel Literature prize winner.

And despite all the condemnation she's sure to gather, maybe some plaudits should go out in these times of Political Correctness for someone who isn't afraid to speak their mind. Whether you agree with her or not.
