The World and US Elections: Israelis Favor McCain; Iran for Obama

Israelis Favor McCain, Iranians Prefer Obama

By Bob McCarty at BobMcCarty.com

Barack Obama has, according to many news accounts about the 2008 presidential race, won the love and admiration of many people around the world. Perhaps more worthwhile than the results of any global opinion poll is a look at how Israelis and Iranians would vote if given the chance.

Published one week ago, a ynet news article, Poll: Israel votes McCain in US elections, revealed that 46% of Israelis would vote for Republican Party presidential nominee John McCain if given chance to elect the U.S. president while only 34 percent would vote for the Democratic Party contender. Further, almost half of those polled believe McCain would better impact Jewish state.

Published a few days earlier, another ynet news article, Larijani: Iran prefers Obama, revealed that Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani believes his country is leaning towards Obama in the U.S. presidential election "because he is more flexible and rational."

Summary: Israelis like McCain, and Iranians like Obama. Any questions?*

*If, after carefully considering the facts above, you find yourself still undecided about who to support in the presidential election Tuesday, remember to listen to "The Poll Whisperer" before you cast your vote.

CORRUPTION: Obama Shady Contributions, Big Media's Lack of Reporting it

Obama Shady Campaign Contributions:
Serious Questions Surround
Almost Half of Obama Contributions
Credit Card Chicanery, Foreign Donations

Mainstream Media Not Interested

Back in May, Doug Ross made the discovery that Barack Obama was the only website that accepted foreign contributions without proof of US citizenship.

The Mainstream Press yawned.

"In May of this year I noted the fact that the Obama campaign ran the only website that permitted donations from foreign countries without any proof of citizenship."

The MSM is still yawning--when they take time out from digging through dumpsters looking for their next big break in the Joe the Plumber story.

Now, Ross is writing about the Obama campaign disabling safeguards so that even Osama bin Laden can make a credit card contribution to his favorite agent of 'Change!'.

From Doug Ross@Journal: The Obama Campaign's Massive Credit Card Scandal
You know how ACORN registered thousands of bogus voters like Mickey Mouse and Daffy Duck? ACORN's handlers at the Obama campaign seem to be accepting contributions from Mickey and Daffy too.

It turns out that the Obama campaign's crack team of fundraisers decided to turn off all security validation for credit-card donations. Want to enter the name Pedro Martinez when the credit-card belongs to Arnold Fizbin? Need to use the ZIP code 99999 when the card owner's ZIP is 02154? No problem! The Obama campaign doesn't care!

In order for this to occur, the "Address Verification System has to be specifically disabled to allow this fraud."

If this happened on the McCain-Palin08 website, a gaggle of reporters would descend on the story and the BREAKING! graphic would likely melt down on CNN from overuse--if one can image that.

Andrew McCarty, Ross notes, has estimated that almost half of Obama's contributions--nearly $200 million--have questions surrounding them. Where are the vetting agents of Big Media?

Well, yesterday they were writing about the Republican National Committee's budget for Sarah Palin's wardrobe.

Estimates ranged as high as--brace yourself--$150,000. We'll be the first to admit that reporters are not always the smartest people in the world, so perhaps the large numbers involved in the Obama contributions story have given them trouble.

The New York Times, TIME and Newsweek might consider hiring math tutors.

Ross ends up:

In summary: the five-year stock price of the New York Times

While the Times' CSI unit probes Joe the Plumber's health records and scrutinizes Sarah Palin's shoe bills, an election is well nigh being stolen right under their very eyes. Although this scandal is a doozy, the Times is silent about this flagrant abuse of election law.

Eleven days remain until the election... hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal and foreign donations appear to have flowed into Obama's coffers... and Manhattan's Pravda can't rustle up a story. Not to worry. I give them six months.

Don't let these criminals steal the election. Vote.

The dereliction of duty in the Mainstream Press in 2008 has been breath-taking.

For students of history, one of the only advantages to living through times of great corruption is being able to say later, "I was there."

One only has to determine which corruption is worse: the Obama campaign's contribution mechanisms or the silence in the toothless watchdog press.

China's Olympics, Russia and Obama's Foreign Donors

Finally, a celebrity who earned it. Michael Phelps is demonstrating the best of America as he continues racking up gold medals in the China Olympics. Check out these awesome photos of his split second win.

China, on the other hand, appears to be cheating. The age of their gymnasts is in question, they faked parts of the opening ceremony and the little cutie who sang was apparently lip synching. The actual singer had buck teeth and wasn't cute enough.

Russia chose this time to invade the country of Georgia. Obama lost his 3 AM moment, tepidly calling for restraint on both sides, before he resumed wave surfing in Hawaii. McCain took a tough stand from the get go.
Russia continues to ravage Georgia as we speak. President Saakashvili was forced to accept defeat last Friday as he signed a peace agreement that gives the Russian Army the right to patrol on Georgian soil. Russia continues to strengthen their position, despite claims they are withdrawing their troops. The Russian bear awakens, and he's hungry.

ELECTION '08:
Forget not standing up to Russia, Obama can't even stand up to Hillary. A deal was reached that will allow Hillary's name to be placed in nomination at the upcoming Dem convention. Rep. Loretta Sanchez of California says she’s happy for the chance to vote for Hillary, and she predicts that as many as half of the Democrats in the House could join her. Should be interesting.
Meanwhile, more info reaches the public about the Messiah.

You Tube
This photo of Obama’s registration for school in Jakarta documents Barack Obama as Barry Soetoro, nationality as Indonesian and religion as Islam
Obama's registration for school in Jakarta lists his name as Barry Soetoro, his nationality as Indonesian and his religion as Islam. Meanwhile, the Obama camp is going ballistic over Jerome Corsi's new best-seller, 'Obama Nation,' launching an aggressive counteroffensive saying the book is full of lies and innuendoes. As usual, they're a little short on specifics.
The communist party's USA newspaper is endorsing Obama, saying his candidacy represents a "broad multi-class multicultural movement." That about says it all.
Obama will be releasing his third book next month, entitled, 'Change We Can Believe In.' Color me an skeptical. Last but not least, American Thinker has an excellent investigative article, 'Obama's Foreign Donors.' Worth a read. Drip, drip, drip.

GOOD NEWS:
Work has finally begun on a border fence after 12 years of planning, environmental reviews and legal challenges. Denver voters passed initiative 100 that will give police authority to seize cars driven by illegal immigrants. Immigrants are returning to Mexico in droves as more business opportunities emerge in Mexico.
NASA data shows Arctic ice is refusing to melt as ordered, in fact the Arctic ice extent was 30% greater in August 2008 than it was one year ago. The chance discovery of the remains of a giant kangaroo casts doubt on the long held theory that climate change was responsible for its demise. Apparently man is the culprit.
A Texas school district may be the first in the nation to allow teachers to pack guns and, the best news of all: California taxpayers may be on the hook for a staggering $388 million judgement. Apparently the state's tax collection agency was judged to have pursued a former taxpayer a little too vigorously.
MEDIA:
Voters overwhelmingly believe that 'politicians will break the rules to help people who give them a lot of money,' but, surprisingly, most say that media bias is a bigger problem than campaign cash. Media headlines trumpeted the fact that 47% of Americans believe the government should require all radio and television stations to offer equal amounts of conservative and liberal political commentary i.e.: the 'Fairness Doctrine.' Headlines on RightBias see it another way: 'Majority of Americans Reject Fairness Doctrine.'
News-stand sales of U.S. magazines fell 6.3% in the first half of 2008 and PBS, probably the most liberal network in America, will present a program this fall that says the Old Testament is a bunch of made-up stories that never happened. They report, they decide.

A surfer in New Smyrna Beach was caught paddling frantically after spotting a shark closing in on him

CULTURE:
The family of a gay teenager who was fatally shot in class blames the school district for allowing their son to wear makeup and feminine clothing to school. Ellen Degeneres married her girlfriend last weekend.
A federal judge says the University of California can deny course credit to applicants from Christian high schools whose textbooks declare the Bible infallible and reject evolution.
New census figures show whites will be the minority by 2042. Does that mean whites will start getting preferential treatment and won't be held accountable for their actions? Inquiring minds want to know.

STUDIES:
Scientists claim that a bias towards beauty over intelligence is human nature. Duh. Scientists have also come up with a pill that blocks the buzz brought on by a drink of alcohol. Physiologists analyzing obesity, heart disease and diabetes have found that the act of sitting shuts down the circulation of a fat-absorbing enzyme called lipase. Conclusion: Get off your butt!
In a potential setback to wind power, new research shows that living near wind turbines can cause sleep disorders, difficulty with equilibrium, headaches and childhood "night terrors." Wonder how the cave men would have dealt with all these newfangled disorders and syndromes.
Women, are you attracted to bad boys? Not to worry, its not your fault. A study by British scientists suggest that taking birth control pills can change a woman's taste in men - to those who are genetically less compatible.

IDIOT OF THE WEEK:
This weeks' award goes to the Swedish wrestler who discarded his bronze medal in protest because he didn't win the gold. This poor sport has been stripped of the award and disqualified from the tournament in Beijing.

Till next Monday, keep smiling,

War in Iraq: Heavy Foreign Investment a Sign of Victory

We Won!

America, its allies and the Iraqi people have won the war against terror in Iraq. How do we know? Simple. Just follow the money. European and Asian investment companies are beating a path to Iraq, money in hand. Iraqi Airlines is flying high thanks to a colossal $5.5 billion contract with Boeing and the United Arab Emirates just canceled billions of dollars of Iraqi debt as they moved to restore a diplomatic mission in Baghdad.

When foreign countries start investing billions of dollars in a country, its a safe bet they are aware of the risks involved. And, unlike the old news media and our elected Democrat officials, they see a relatively stable country ripe for investment.

The influx of foreign investment is largely due to the improved security in Iraq, which continues to improve even after the withdrawal of nearly 25% of U.S. combat brigades. The Joint Chiefs of Staff recently acknowledged cautiously that security 'is on its way to becoming sustainable.'
American and Iraqi forces have driven Al-Qaeda in Iraq out of its last redoubt in the north of the country in the culmination of one of the most spectacular victories of the war on terror. Al-Maliki, Iraq's prime minister said that "the government has defeated terrorism in the country." Pretty unequivocal. In fact, things are going so well in Iraq that the discussion has now shifted to a timetable for more troop withdrawals.

The American media is silent on all this good news, possibly out of embarrassment for being so incredibly wrong on pretty much every single issue having to do with Iraq. They would like to forget their near universal scorn for the now successful surge. The Democrats had declared defeat and there was no way they would accept anything more. The media trumpeted their views. Lo and behold, the surge worked. Horror of horrors, Bush was right.

When evidence of the progress on the ground was too overwhelming to ignore, new talking points emerged on the left. Democrats avowed that our military victory meant nothing. (Think about that a second) What really mattered, they intoned with one voice, was the political progress, as measured by Congressionally established benchmarks.
More horrors. It appears that a March 2008 report shows that the Iraqis have met 15 of the 18 benchmarks. The silence from the left, and the old media is now deafening.

Desperate to ignore any and all evidence of our astounding victory, the left, aided and abetted by the old media, continue to desperately search for any smidgen of bad news from Iraq. Not finding any, new talking points are starting to emerge. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, the left has moved its focus off Iraq - to Afghanistan. The war has merely shifted, they say. We haven't won, they claim. For shame.

Even in Afghanistan, the tide is turning. But don't expect to get the straight poop from our elected officials or our very own media. They will continue their 45 year strategy of re-defining reality to their own liking, unaware that the world has changed. The media no longer has a lock on what news Americans hear and Democrats no longer have a lock on defining the issues.

The good news is, the old media is breathing its last biased breath. Even experts are astonished at the rapid rate of decline of this once robust profession. Prime indicators of this decline: New York Times stock is rated one step above junk bond status and the Los Angeles Times, for the first time in their history, had to lay off 250 jobs, 150 of them newsroom jobs. Yet, despite market realities, the old media continue to cling to the notion that the liberal point of view is the only valid one. Hasta la vista, baby.

The Democrats are also starting to see the writing on the wall, with congressional approval ratings in the single digits for the first time ever. Even Obama, the most liberal of all Senators, is having to do the flip-flop two step regarding Iraq, allowing that the surge has achieved some stability and that the next president would be foolish to fritter away those gains - much to the dismay of his followers, who have invested their whole lives in the notion that America is the bad guy and terrorists are merely freedom fighters.

The notion that America is a force for good in the world is not one liberals will ever embrace. Its called cognitive dissonance. And just as they cling to the notion that Alger Hiss was innocent and Che Guevera was a hero, they will continue to believe their own definition of reality, despite any and all evidence to the contrary. To admit they were wrong would invalidate them. And everything is about them.

The reality is that America has accomplished the impossible in Iraq, giving millions of Iraqi people a chance to obtain the very freedoms the old media and liberals so casually pervert. God Bless America.

Foreign Companies Rushing to Invest in Iraq

We Won!

The rest of the world apparently doesn't read the U.S. Mainstream Media.

Or listen to Congressional Democrats, Harry Reid or Code Pink, either.

Companies from around the world are rushing into Iraq to do business, due to the improved security climate in that country. Over a half-billion dollars worth of investments from countries that, in many cases, didn't support the U.S. in its efforts to improve Iraq's security.

European and Asian companies are beating their American rivals into Iraq now that security has improved the investment climate, Iraq and U.S. officials say.

"It's starting to turn … and the people who are getting in on the ground floor are not American," said Paul Brinkley, the Pentagon official who is leading U.S. efforts to help Iraq rebuild its economy. "It's ironic."

Foreign companies, including U.S. investors, have committed to deals worth about $500 million so far this year and Brinkley expects at least $1 billion in foreign investment by the end of the year.

What about China, who hamstrings the USA in the United Nations every chance it gets?

Even China is reaping profits from the U.S. investment in troops and treasure in Iraq.

USA Today goes on to note that "China has also aggressively pursued the Iraqi market, selling machinery to the government and electronic products to consumers."

Why aren't we celebrating this good news from Iraq?

Or, the questions should more properly be: Why isn't the MSM celebrating the good news from Iraq?

Millions of readers know the answer to that question. Or, rather: Millions of MSM ex-readers.

Apparently, that includes the CEOs of many foreign companies.
